Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (HPFT) SEWARD LODGE ANTI-LIGATURE REFURBISHMENT PROGRAMME

Project Details

CLC delivered a comprehensive anti-ligature refurbishment programme at Seward Lodge, a 16-bed specialist mental health and dementia care unit in Hertford. Working with HPFT and WT Partnership, the project focused on creating a safer environment for vulnerable residents through the removal of potential ligature risks while maintaining a comfortable, non-clinical setting. Over an eight-week programme, all 16 patient bedrooms and 20 bathrooms were upgraded from traditional fixtures and fittings to anti-ligature compliant standards. High-risk fixtures were removed and replaced with specialist anti-ligature products, including door hardware, ironmongery, sanitaryware and bedroom accessories. Additional improvements included bathroom upgrades, communal corridor works and lighting adaptations within the communal garden gazebo area.
