Welcome to the March edition of Highlights! I am currently in South Africa on holiday and wanted to share the photo of our beautiful and majestic country. We are truly blessed being able to see the wild in their natural habitat. Easter arrives early this year, providing much needed colour to dreary grey Vienna. Easter is always a happy time for me, with memories of seeing the excited smiles on my boys' faces when they find the hidden eggs in the garden. We warmly welcome new members, some of whom have expressed a keen interest in organising day trips outside of Vienna. Diana is proposing a trip to Schlosshof in the warmer months, and Nayiri is arranging a trip to Salzburg to watch a Shen Yun performance in April. A wonderful opportunity to venture outside of Vienna with lovely AWA ladies. We were very pleased to receive 7 nominations for Charities to support in 2018. The Charities were presented to our members who were given an opportunity to cast their vote. Once again, for the 3rd year running it has been the majority wish of our members to support Wiener Frauenhäuser. On the 12th February we presented the Frauenhäuser with vouchers as our 2017 donation. A gentle reminder that the Fundraising committee is collecting any unwanted clothing and accessories for ladies, men and children, for our upcoming Spring into Fashion for Charity event. This event was a huge success in 2016, and a great way to make space in your closets while donating to a good cause. As always, we would be delighted to hear from you should you wish to contribute towards the content of this wonderful magazine, whether in the form of photos or an article. It has been a pleasure serving you as Editor of the Highlights magazine for the past year, regrettably I will no longer be serving in this capacity due to other commitments. It was a very difficult decision as I truly enjoyed working on the Highlights edition.
