HIGHLIGHTS: expansive floor-toceiling glass walls framing uninterrupted views of the coachella Valley and san jacinto Mountains

From the moment you arrive, the residence captivates with its sculptural form wrapped in charred shou sugi ban, a striking contrast against the desert landscape. inside, expansive floor-to-ceiling glass walls frame panoramic views, blurring the line between indoors and out.

Natural materials like Hemlock wood ceilings, italian calcutta and taj Mahal stone, French oak, and limestone flow throughout, creating an atmosphere that is both refined and inviting.

to fully embrace the stunning desert and mountain views, every window and door in the home was chosen for its minimal framing and expansive glass openings. the goal was to create unobstructed sight lines while ensuring durability in a highexposure environment.
the aim was to:
> incorporate awake 425 series curtain walls, enhancing visibility with sleek, low-profile framing.
> install 905 series Multi-slide Doors, opening the space to its natural surroundings.
> the 105 series casement and awnings provide ventilation without sacrificing design.
> ensure smooth functionality, making every window and door easy to operate.

Designed for both comfort and elegance, this home includes a beautiful kitchen as a private sanctuary, featuring panoramic vistas, a spa-inspired en-suite with a sculptural soaking tub, and a custom walk-in closet. each additional en-suite bedroom is uniquely appointed with luxurious finishes and artistic detailing, offering a bespoke retreat for residents and guests alike.

What stands out most about this project:
> the meticulous craftsmanship required to execute the seamless indoor-outdoor transitions is evident throughout.
> the harmonious integration of contemporary design into the natural desert setting.
> the way the team incorporated the 425 series curtain walls, enhancing visibility with sleek, low-profile framing.

Floor-to-ceiling glass walls, concealed tracks and thresholds, and expansive openings designed to dissolve the boundary between indoors and out.
Dreamed up as both a personal sanctuary and a rigorously disciplined architectural exercise, the Marx road residence reflects a lifetime of design conviction brought home. Designed by steven Harris for himself, the residence is guided by a set of nonnegotiables—principles that prioritize procession, proportion, and daily lived experience over spectacle.
set within the desert landscape of rancho Mirage, the home unfolds gracefully. From the first glimpse across the surrounding greenery to the gradual reveal of interior volumes, the architecture resists abrupt transitions. instead, it choreographs movement through space with restraint and intention, allowing light, air, and landscape to do the work.

immersed in the environment

Marks road is a study in balance, where structure and transparency meet to create a refined living environment shaped by light, openness, and intentional design.

in a project where customization was paramount, we welcomed the opportunity to collaborate and personalize products to bring Matthew segal’s vision to life.
the goals for this project where clear and distinct.

Matthew wanted his home to be integrated with the canyon and maximize the views from every angle. awake’s minimal frames were a great fit for the project and made his vision a reality.
awake developed a method to integrate our fixed window wall into a Multi-slide Door system, utilizing our 1-3/8” t-bar at the verticals while still utilizing the door bottom rails and head jambs for the two 90 degree butt glaze corners.

the minimalist aesthetic required meticulous attention to detail to ensure every door and window was weather-resistant. While competitors would have needed years to develop custom solutions, we expedited the process, allowing Matthew to complete the home in just 11 months.

as you enter and explore this home, you can hardly tell where the sliding doors start and stop, which makes the sweeping views feel integrated into the living space.

Matthew is proud to have accomplished this clean, simple aesthetic with products designed here in the usa .

For this project, Matthew needed an innovative partner to offer solutions and create options as needed.
Here’s an idea of how our work together unfolded:
> We met regularly to ensure we were up to date on the architectural plans and progress.
> We created extremely thorough shop drawings and completed a factory mock up to ensure all critical dimensions were accurate and job ready.
> We created a custom design to incorporate fixed and butt glaze glass into our multi-slide system.
> We provided custom samples for Matthew to review and provide feedback, ensuring that the final product was perfect.

Looking back at our time working together, Matthew shared what stood out most about partnering with our team:
> He was confident we understood the innovation needed to execute his vision.
> He loved the product’s beautiful design and functionality.
> He felt like a priority client throughout the entire experience.

“awake Windows was cooperative along the way and facilitated making my design dreams come true.”

Perched high above Austin with uninterrupted 360-degree views, this home was designed to embrace its surroundings. Expansive glass walls flood every room with natural light, effortlessly connecting the refined interiors with the ever-changing skyline.

HIGHLIGHTS:
every detail of the home was guided by one defining element: the windows. the design team meticulously planned each placement to create a seamless connection between architecture and environment. the stairwell window—Mari’s personal favorite—casts shifting light patterns throughout the day, while the study’s corner window frames an outdoor sculpture like a living art piece.
even private spaces were designed with openness in mind. the primary bath features a striking window above the shower, offering a serene view without sacrificing privacy. the result? a home where every sight line tells a story.

the effortless indoor-outdoor flow, making it easy to open up the home and embrace the landscape.

We collaborated to:
> integrated a 10’ transom over a 10’ patio door to maximize views and eliminate the need for additional structure.
> Optimize natural light with minimal-framed windows, reducing the need for artificial lighting.
> customize divided light configurations for perfectly balanced proportions.

“Because of the windows, we get to enjoy our gorgeous view all day, every day.”
For Mari and her husband, the impact of awake’s design extends far beyond aesthetics—it transforms how they experience their home. Whether enjoying the city’s twinkling lights at night or the peaceful glow of sunrise, their space is an ever-changing work of art.

What they loved most about partnering with awake:
> the personalized collaboration that ensured every window placement was intentional.
> the quality craftsmanship, with stunningly thin frames that enhance rather than obstruct the view.

Nestled along the shores of Flathead Lake, this one-of-a-kind boathouse was designed to be both functional and breathtakingly beautiful. With a striking segmented radius window showcasing its curved stairway, the structure seamlessly integrates with its surroundings while maximizing natural light and panoramic views of Marco Bay and Glacier National Park.

Multi-slide Doors Hinged Doors
HIGHLIGHTS: a 425 series segmented radius window at the curved stairway entrance—one of the most complex and visually stunning elements of the design.

Perched on Flathead Lake, Myers Boat House was envisioned as a space where the homeowner could effortlessly transition from a day on the water to a beautifully designed retreat.

achieving that vision required the expertise of Montana sash & Door, who worked alongside keith Beck architecture to ensure the design met both aesthetic and performance standards.
to fully embrace the stunning lake and mountain views, every window and door in the boathouse was chosen for its minimal framing and expansive glass openings. the goal was to create unobstructed sight lines while ensuring durability in a high-exposure waterfront environment.
We collaborated with Montana sash & Door to:
> incorporate a 425 series curtain wall, enhancing visibility with sleek, low-profile framing.
> install a 905 series Multi-slide Door on the north side, opening the space to its natural surroundings.
> use 105 series casements & awnings, providing ventilation without sacrificing design.
at the heart of the design is the segmented radius window, a feat of precision and craftsmanship. this custom 425 series curtain wall curves along the grand stairway, creating a striking focal point while flooding the interior with natural light.

“ the homeowner is so pleased with the outcome that they are now using awake Windows & Doors for the main house.”
For Montana sash & Door, this project was more than just an installation—it was an opportunity to push the boundaries of engineering and design. From concept to completion, the collaboration between the architect, builder, and awake team ensured a flawless execution.

What stood out most about this project:
> the meticulous craftsmanship required to execute the curved/sloped stairway window.
> the seamless integration of contemporary design into a rugged, natural setting.

12 motorized door systems, 14-foot-tall glass panels, concealed tracks and thresholds, and an 8-foot-wide pivot door upon entry.

Dreamed of for years and brought to life through an elite collaboration of design partners, Canyon Vista embodies the ultimate expression of indoor-outdoor living. With over 60% of its exterior composed of glass and panoramic views spanning nearly 280 degrees of Sedona’s red rocks, the home dissolves boundaries, celebrating connection, performance, and place in every direction.
Designed as both a personal residence and an immersive retreat space, canyon Vista was built for gathering, inspiration, and flow. Homeowner roland cochran envisioned a place that could comfortably host up to fifteen guests for coaching intensives and retreats, yet still felt grounded in the intimacy of everyday life.
set against sedona’s expansive red rock backdrop, the design intentionally celebrates what surrounds it. Floor-toceiling glazing captures endless mountain views, while the remaining walls remain minimal and understated. the result is a home that feels alive, connected, and entirely in rhythm with its environment.
“i hate being inside,” roland says with a laugh. “ this was my way of creating a home that lets me live outdoors, even when i’m technically in.”
From morning hikes to fireside evenings, the connection to sedona’s natural beauty is constant and intentional.

the heart of canyon Vista lies in its ability to disappear.
> twelve motorized glass door systems open with the touch of a button, revealing sweeping desert views.
> Narrow sightlines and hidden tracks allow every threshold to dissolve into the landscape.
> Designed for sedona’s mild climate, the doors remain open nearly eight months of the year.
> air, light, and conversation flow freely between indoors and out.

at the entry, an all-glass, 8-foot-wide pivot door sets the tone for what’s inside: expansive, luminous, and unexpected simplicity. Designed as both sculpture and function, the pivot hints that the best views are yet to come. When open, it invites guests directly into the home’s main gathering space, where the views unfold in every direction.

For roland, canyon Vista isn’t just a home—it’s the culmination of a vision years in the making. Built to erase the divide between indoors and out, it captures his love for nature, design, and connection in one seamless environment. “i always wanted a home where you’re not really inside,” he says—and here, that vision became real.
that philosophy shaped every detail. From the twelve motorized panels that vanish into hidden tracks to the all-glass pivot door that opens with ease, every awake system was chosen to make the boundaries between indoors and out feel irrelevant. “sixty percent of the house is glass,” he says. “Over half of it is see-through. When that main door opens, it’s the showpiece. everyone gathers there—it’s where the view is, where the house comes alive.”

Working with awake reinforced what roland believes about building well:
“Don’t cut corners. Hire a five-star team that communicates. Building should be exciting—not stressful. awake made that possible. i was traveling around the world while the house was being built, and they handled everything. it was a breeze.”
Now, whether hosting a retreat or simply watching the sun rise over sedona’s red rocks, canyon Vista reflects the life roland envisioned—rooted in connection, nature, and freedom.

“Most people dread building,” he says. “For me, it was a dream. and every time i open those doors, it still feels that way.”

Our 905 series Multi-slide is a breakthrough innovation in indoor/outdoor living solutions. interlockers as narrow as 3/4” keep your view nearly unobstructed. Our innovative rolling system and PtFe bulb seals allow massive walls of glass to glide open with ease so you can entertain and enjoy the outdoors.

Our NFrc test size Multi-slide Doors and Windows has a low u-value of .35 (Low e3 w/ argon).
Our 905 series Multi-slide Door can be produced with panel heights up to 20’ and widths over 10’.
three lockstiles, five sills, four interlocks, and three different bi-part conditions all highlight the incredible custom capabilities inherent in our Multislide product family.

the standard Lockstile is designed with the handle integrated into the extrusion to keep sight lines only 1-1/8”. We also offer Flush and Zero Lead stile options as well as various bi-parting and angled options.
the 3/4” interlock is the narrowest sight line offering in our 905 series family. the 1-3/8” is still ultra-narrow, and perfectly aligns with our 1-3/8” t-Bar. Both interlock widths are offered in shallow and deep variants.
the american-inspired standard sill is also offered in a 1-3/4” Water Leg version. this standard 3/4” tall sill includes a narrow 2-1/4” bottom rail and includes anchor covers that hide all installation screws.
the water-rated t-sill is the perfect choice when your finishing details require the need to see your finished flooring run through the door track to seamlessly transition from the interior to the exterior utilizing a 2-1/4 bottom rail.
the european-inspired Hidden sill has an ultra-narrow bottom rail of only 1-1/4”. the rollers are inverted into the track, and the panel glides on a guide pin.
the self-draining Zero Bottom rail sill allows architects to have no visible bottom rail. the 3” tall track is typically repressed in the slab, which gives the illusion that the glass is sliding directly on the finished floor.
the innovative roller system uses precision bearings and spreads the heavy weight of the panels across interlinked roller carriages that can be installed across the entire width of the panel.

UNEMPLOYMENT IS THE GREATEST CONTRIBUTOR TO RECIDIVISM.
Our Patio Door products are named the 275 series to draw attention to the fact that in 2008 when the federal unemployment rate was 5%, the unemployment rate for formerly incarcerated individuals was 27%2 While surviving prison and the extremely long sentence lengths in the usa is hard enough, getting a good job when leaving prison is often the most difficult part of successfully re-entering society. awake Window & Door co., with your help, is creating jobs and providing meaningful second chance employment to break this recidivism cycle.

the low sill option provides .5 inches of clearance between the floor and the leaf of the door making it the perfect option for carpet. additionally, this configuration protects your floors from unnecessary wear and tear.
the standard sill on the pivot door is a great choice for returning finished flooring. the 1 inch height works well for most field conditions.
Our doors utilize a silent, seamless, and adjustable latching force magnetic catch. these allow the door to return to its resting position and ensure complete closure. the magnetic catch allows the door to automatically return to its resting position to ensure complete closure from the elements and to allow the lock to latch properly.

RECIDIVISM IS A MAJOR CONTRIBUTOR TO MASS INCARCERATION.
Our Hinged Door products are named the 505 series to draw attention to the fact that 50% of people who leave prison will end up back there within 5 years4 typically when people hear this stat, they assume this is because bad people continue to do bad things. sadly, the main contributor to recidivism is the difficulty formerly incarcerated individuals have in finding a good job after re-entry. Biases and stigmas of their records often prevent companies from hiring them, making it near impossible to survive in our society. Let’s create good jobs and change lives together to prevent this.

Our 425 series Window will is inspired by the structural integrity of commercial curtain wall, but includes the refinement, energy efficiency, and ease of install of a luxury residential window system. it puts all glass in the same plane, removes unsightly stops and weeps, and has a perimeter frame as narrow as 1”; one of the most minimal on the market.

Our NFrc test size Window Wall has a low u-value of .32 (Low e3 w/ argon).
With the ability to integrate steel, our window has almost limitless size combinations and with narrow 1-3/8” vertical or horizontal structure.
4.5”
a narrow 4.5” jamb can be common mulled or have operable products inserted. an optional 6” jamb depth is available for jumbo oversized units or in areas with high design pressure requirements.

awake’s fixed windows are clean and minimal in a way that other windows cannot match. straight stops, four different frame heights, and innovative weeping are all part of the reason why.
the 425 series Window Wall has an ultra-narrow sight line as narrow as 1. the curtain wall-inspired “pressure bar” allows for large sizes, but the innovative design of the nail fin makes installation easy.
With our Window Wall system, vertical structure can be created by utilizing a residential type common mull (as shown), which utilizes a thermoplastic mull clip to connect fixed or operable windows, hinged doors, or patio doors.
For those desiring the narrowest sight line possible, our window wall includes a 1-3/8” t-Bar option. the t-Bar allows operable or hinged doors to be inserted, resulting in incredibly minimal sight lines with all glass in plane.
steel stiffeners are inserted and installed at our factory when the DP or structural requirements of the job call for it. No notching or anchoring of tabs is required. installation remains the same, and the steel inserts add so much strength they virtually eliminate the need for “structure by others.”

THE USA LOCKS UP MORE PEOPLE THAN ANY OTHER COUNTRY. Our Window Wall products are named the 425 series to draw attention to the fact that the usa has 4% of the world’s total population but has 25% of the world’s total prison population5. We are locking up more people and for a longer duration than countries like russia or china, and it’s not even close6. this hurts those that are incarcerated and costs taxpayers over $182 billion a year7. IS THE CONVICTION RATE REALLY 96%?
the promotion of a 96% conviction rate in criminal cases in the us is a form of misinformation that can contribute to an unjust justice system in many ways. For example, the promotion of a high conviction rate in criminal cases can create an unjust justice system by fostering a false sense of certainty, pressuring prosecutors to secure convictions, and having a disproportionate impact on marginalized communities, and incentivizing plea bargains resulting in wrongful convictions. When statistically your chances once entered into the criminal justice system of being convicted guilty at trial less than 5%8 .

IS PRISON REALLY THE RIGHT SOLUTION FOR A DRUG PROBLEM?
Our operable window products are named the 105 series to highlight that 1 in 5 people currently in prison are locked up for a non-violent drug offense9 sadly, many of these individuals are incarcerated for marijuana use, which is now legal in 24 states (and counting). While many need rehab or modern lawmaking, the reality is hundreds of thousands of people are locked up every day in the usa for non-violent drug use. When they leave prison, their criminal record makes it difficult to gain meaningful employment. With your help, we can change that reality for some.

“Far and away the best price that life offers is the chance to work hard at work worth doing.”
- Theodore Roosevelt
When the four of us had a dream to start a business in 2020, our deepest desire was that it would grow into the type of business that Awake Window & Door Co. has become. It was always our goal that it would be defined by these three core principles:
Engineering excellence has been a driving force behind the growth of Awake. The challenge to minimize sight lines while also maximizing glass and size capabilities is at the core of our promise of “Less us. More view.®” Across all of our unique product families, we are proud to o er some of the narrowest sight lines and largest sizes available in North America. Extreme attention to detail and emphasis on quality control and luxury hardware components have been essential reasons why our customers love our products so much. It's these details that ensure our products roll with ease, lock e ortlessly to secure your home, and specialty glass reduces energy flow while flooding your home with light. Our customers love our products because of the love we put into them.
AMAZING PEOPLE
Despite being a manufacturer of luxury products, Awake is first and foremost a people business. To ensure our success, we made it a requirement to only work with amazing partners to get us here. Vendors that share our values and passion for material excellence. Dealers that are experts in product knowledge, installation, and serviceability. Architects with uncompromising design needs that only we understand and can solve. Builders who value timeliness and care about hitting their dates with exceptional precision. Homeowners who love their home and their views, and recognize the need for a great window manufacturer to make it a reality. And of course, employees who love their jobs and the products they build and sell as much as we do.
As we all learned about the devastating complexity of mass incarceration and the skyrocketing recidivism as a result of employers' unwillingness to hire employees with a criminal record, we knew we needed to do something. Our goal was to show the world that if you give this justice-involved people group a chance, they will prove they are capable of doing exceptional things...including building some of the most complex and exceptional windows and doors on the market. Today, we have an employee base of over 100 people, and 56% of them have a justice-involved background. They are turning their lives around and thriving because customers believe in them and the incredible company they have created.
It is because of YOU that we are one of the fastest growing companies in the country, and every day we get to actively play a role in changing the lives of vulnerable people who need it most. We can never thank you enough for making our dream a reality.
Sincerely,
Scott Gates Co-Founder & CEO
