Meet The Family Jane - is a stay at home mom who has a home based jewelry business and takes online nursing classes. Jane is unhappy with the lack of outlet shopping and fun family activities that Stockton has to offer. She prefers to take long drives on the weekends to the Roseville lifestyle center to shop, relax and enjoy some much needed family time

Joe - works in Palo Alto in the financial district he arrives home around 8pm during the week and has little to no time to enjoy his family. Joe enjoys to entertaining his family with fun activities out of town on the weekends. He feels that Stockton has none of this and would rather drive to the Roseville lifestyle center to do so.

The Children - The oldest child, Kyle who is age 6, enjoys outdoor sports. The youngest at age 4, Jacob, enjoys playing video games.

Typical Day Jane and Joe wake up at 6 am. Joe wakes up 6 year old Kyle and helps him get ready for school, and then gets ready himself. Jane makes breakfast for those who are awake. After breakfast, Joe and Kyle leave for school and work. Around 9 am, Jane begins to get 4 year old Jacob ready and drops him off at preschool at 10 am. After Jane drops off Jacob she gets groceries for dinner and then heads home, where she opens her shop. At about 2 pm, Jane closes up shop and goes to pick up both Kyle and Jacob from school. Once they get back home, she helps Kyle do homework and stops any fights that may happen. Around 5 pm, she starts dinner and at 6 pm, they eat. She lets the kids stay up until their dad gets home, which is around 8 pm. Then they go to bed and he gets his dinner from the oven. Jane and Joe then begin to talk about their day, and end up going to bed between 10 pm and 11 pm.

What They Need

Our target customer is missing several things in terms of retail or services. The major problem is having access to long lasting clothes for children and at an affordable rate. Jane and Joe don’t want to keep buying new pants every 6 months, but they also don’t want Jacob and Kyle to be wearing high-waters to school, especially when the pants weren’t intended to be high-waters.

What We’re Offering Our kids' jeans and pants are double cuffed near the ankles, in order to expand the size as children grow rapidly. We also have kid size dresses that have an extra set of material to drop the length of the dress. Even though we use high quality material and our children clothes are long lasting, we still hold these items at low prices. We decided to make prices more affordable because our target customer has just begun paying their mortgage and is spending lots of money on their growing children, which is putting a strain on their disposable income and consequentially their discretionary income.

Our Center For Family Fun Outlet

The Family Plaza in Roseville

Wednesday, November 2, 2011

The Family Plaza Our lifestyle center, The Family Plaza, has a lot to offer for Jane and Joe’s family. They were seeking a place to get away from Stockton and enjoy fun times with the family, as well as shop for long-lasting children’s clothes at a good deal. Which is just what we provide. Both our outlet stores, H&M and Osh Kosh B’Gosh, offer fashionable clothes at a reasonable price. While H&M has something for everyone, mom and dad included, Osh Kosh B’Gosh has clothing that is durable, long lasting and size-adjustable for children, from toddlers to youth sizes, perfect for a family with young children. Jamba Juice and John’s Incredible Pizza offer fun and fresh food for the family. John’s Incredible Pizza has the added bonus being a family funland, so that Joe can enjoy playing with his family over the weekend, leaving the stresses of work behind. And finally at the end of the day it’s just a 1 hour drive home after a fun day with the family. Wednesday, November 2, 2011
