ABOUT YOGYAKARTA

Yogyakarta is located in Java Island in the tropical archipelago of Indonesia. Yogyakarta has unique features for having mountains on the north part of the area and sea in the south. The average temperature here is around  26°C to 30°C with dry season starting from April to August and rainy season from September to March.


ABOUT YOGYAKARTA Living up to its name as the center of Javanese culture, the city is known as the second most popular tourist destination after Bali due to several ancient temples as well as other cultural tourist attractions it has and also its strategic location that allows it to be easily accessed from other big cities in Java. It is also famous for the hospitality of its people who are mainly Javanese. They are at least bilinguals speaking  both Javanese and Indonesian, and very often English. ABOUT YOGYAKARTA

Yogyakarta is well known as city of education as it hosts many top-tier schools and universities of the country, one of them being Universitas Gadjah Mada. For that reason there are thousands of students coming from all over the country that contribute to making the city even more vibrant with their creativity and diverse backgrounds. AIESEC IN UGM FASTEST GROWING ENTITY


ABOUT AIESEC IN UGM Established in 2011, AIESEC in UGM has been known as the fastest growing entity and now stands as one of the big local commitees in Indonesia. In 2013 it is awarded the most outstanding entity performance and later on in early 2016   several other awards such as Outgoing Global Citizen Exellence, Outgoing Global Talent Exellence, and Global Leader Exellence has been given to AIESEC in UGM by AIESEC Indonesia.  One of our projects, Healvolution 2015, is also recognised as the Top 5 Most Impactful Project in AIESEC International Congress on the very same year.


With our 100 members, we always. to improve our contributions in developing Yogyakarta,  the local as well as international youths.  We are giving our best effort in order to deliver the greatest experience for our members and our exchange participants.


OUR SUMMER PROJECTS


JOGJAPRENEUR 2.0


Jogjaprenuer is a project based on SDG number 8 in which it focuses on helping small to medium sized local enterprises in improving their business potentials by taking advantage of the ever growing media and technology as promotional tools and also growing the society interest in entrepreneurship.

In this project, the exchange participant will follow several activites such as company and small to medium sized enterprise visits, school roadshow, and many more.


GLOBAL PLAYGROUND 2.0


Based on SDG number 4 that focuses on quality education, Global Playground 2.0 aims to increase children's awareness of education and its importance as well as the development of their potentials. Considering that Yogyakarta is famous as Indonesia's city of education our goal is to help Yogyakarta lives up to its image.

In this project, the exchange participant will take part in several activites such as teaching primary school aged underprivileged children with or without disabilities, colaborating with them in creative activities, and also motivating them to read.


MAHADANA 3.0


In Mahadana 3.0 the concern of creating sustainable infrastructure and cultural preservation will be combined to create a project with the aim of fulfilling SDG number 11. This project is being held as an effort to make sure that Yogyakarta's fame as cultural tourist destination can also be seen as an advantage by local villages to as an economical potential.

In this project, the exchange participant will take part in activites with the aim of villages rehabilitation as well as culture promotion and preservation.
