WHAT ARE THE QUALITIES YOUR TEAM POSSESSES THAT CONTRIBUTE TO ITS SUCCESS? James Cox: Finding the right members for a truly great team can be a challenge, so having a dynamic combination is crucial. Frank Giordano, Chad Maltby and I are similarly dedicated to our work, in that real estate is our life—not just a job. We are constantly connecting with our clients, and are so attentive to e-mails that sometimes they’ll get a response from two of us simultaneously! We take pride in taking care of our customers who trust that we are on top of our game around the clock; we’re constantly tossing ideas around, brainstorming new ways to market our properties and to serve and cater to our clients. For example, we recently sent out poster-size invitations to an open house party. An invitation like that is impossible to ignore.

DID ANY OF MEMBERS OF THE TEAM HAVE ANOTHER PROFESSION PRIOR TO REAL ESTATE? IF SO, HOW HAS THAT PREPARED HIM FOR SELLING REAL ESTATE? JC: Both Frank and I worked in the service industry, and our passion for taking care of our customers goes above and beyond normal expectations: it is something we’ve carried into real estate. My experiences in luxury hotels really translated to ensuring everyone is taken care of in a five-star way. Between our combined abilities, we provide a seamless client experience, sometimes even before someone realizes they want to put their home on the market. People trust us to be honest, and also to work our magic to transform their properties and market them creatively to maximize their appeal. We are truly a full-service global real estate team.

WHAT PROFESSIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENT IS YOUR TEAM MOST PROUD OF? JC: Last year, we were hired by a foreign seller for their high-end $19 million apartment in One57 by the end of 2015—but we had less than 45 days to list and sell the property, with the caveat that if we couldn’t deliver, the whole deal was off. So we created beautiful custom marketing pieces that echoed the architectural themes of the building and really showcased the apartment, and we were able to close the sale before the deadline. We were proud of our efforts (including a swank martini and oyster party) to attract the right people to the property, and it paid off.
