Publisher’s Note What an amazing month August was for AVENUE at the Second Life Community Convention. The real life issue turned out tops and we had so many congratulatory feedback from the attendees who were happy with this real life keepsake of our second lives. So with our September issue, here is the much awaited virtual/digital copy of this fabulous issue for your viewing. There are still limited copies of the real life issue left so if you’re interested to have one of these for your coffee table, just send me a notecard and we’ll send more information to you on how you can get your copy. For those who missed the first ever mixed reality fashion track at SLCC and inworld, read all about it as AVENUE’s VP of Marketing, Jesika Contepomi recounts it from moderating and organising it. So what’s for September? Fashionistas whip out your fashion diaries and note : AVENUE Models will be organizing a fashion showcase called EBONY celebrating the best of black fashion designers on the 20th of September for our monthly fashion extravaganza and Modavia Fashion Week will also be a date to note from the 10-17 September where a plethora of designers will fill your senses. And finally, don’t miss out on the come back of our Inspirations curator Paola Tauber with a fiery collection of Violent Vixens, those gun-toting babes we simply love! Fire away!

Editor’s Note September is here and so is this magazine to amuse, inform, and delight you with the latest and best finds from Second Life. Ever since this magazine started, we have been through a lot, from beating the deadline to debating on whether something must be featured or not, to reproducing the REAL LIFE version of the magazine for SLCC. It’s never a dull moment here in AVENUE where we are forced to look outward and beyond our parcels, to check out fashion, places, and businesses that thrive and make our virtual lives better. Each time we venture out of our comfort zones, we find many places where a slice of Real Life is recreated. Some replicas are mediocre at worst, and then there are some who are able to use their imagination and creativity to produce a beautiful and loving tribute to their favorite real life spot. There’s The Frank Lloyd Wright Museum for instance, and in this issue, we feature the location and interview the person behind the museum. For our CEO of the Month, I am proud to feature GianCarlo Takacs, a dynamic and enigmatic man who started the successful Costa Rica Sims. The sims are celebrating their 2nd year anniversary this month, and in the article, Mr. Takacs reminisces on how he got started, his feelings upon creating what is now touted by many as the most beautiful group of sims in Second Life. We hope you enjoy this month’s installation of AVENUE Magazine! We love bringing you what we discovered and done this month and we hope that we have enriched your virtual life with our articles, fashion spreads, and photos.
