In this diagram it explains how the water cycle works. The water in oceans and lakes gets turned into a gas and rises, then it gets collected into a cloud and is stored there until its ready to fall back down to in the form of rain snow sleet or hail.
Evaporation: Evaporation is heat causing water to evaporate and turn into a gas and rise into the atmosphere.
Condensation Gas turning into water.
precipitation: Rain, snow, sleet, or hail falling to the ground.
Transpiration Where water from plants rise into the atmosphere.
