This symbolises the school’s continuous strive for progress and development as it undertakes its mission to educate, and this aim is represented by the open book. The torch represents the students’ commitment to lifelong learning.
The four rings reflect the multiracial composition of the school community as it grows, learns and develops together as one united community. The concept of the school as a family is reinforced by the four intertwining rings.

Principal’s Foreword
It takes a village to raise a child.
For 55 years, our school has been more than just a place of learning. It has been a living community where values are not only taught, but lived and experienced. At the heart of our story is a belief: that education is not only about acquiring knowledge, but about shaping character.
Through every lesson taught, every challenge faced, and every relationship built, our students grow in Gratitude, Respect and Compassion [GRC] - values that will light their way long a er they leave our school. These values are more than just ideals; they are guiding principles that shape how we learn, lead, and live together as a school community.
As the world continues to change, we remain committed to nurturing future-ready learners who are anchored by strong GRC values yet flexible enough to thrive in a dynamic world.
This co ee table book is a celebration of that journey — of roots that run deep, and of wings ready to take flight.
I invite you to walk through these pages, with gratitude for those who have built this legacy, and hope for those who will carry it forward to continue to shape our future.
Mr Ng Tiong Nam Principal Broadrick Secondary School
Vice-Principal’s Statement
As we mark 55 years of our school’s legacy, let us remind ourselves of our unwavering belief in nurturing the whole child.
Student development and well-being have always been central to our mission. We believe that when students feel seen, heard, and valued, they flourish — not only as learners, but as human beings. Our approach has always been grounded in creating a safe and supportive environment where every child is encouraged to grow in confidence, curiosity, and compassion.
In this journey, the values of Gratitude, Respect, and Compassion (GRC) are more than guiding lights — they are the roots that give our students strength and the compass that points them forward. These values remind us that true education extends beyond the classroom. It is in how our students care for one another, rise a er setbacks, and step forward with courage and empathy.
This co ee table book captures the spirit of our school community — the faces, stories, and shared memories that make our journey so meaningful. As we turn each page, may we be reminded of the importance of nurturing hearts as well as minds, and the power of a school experience that supports students not just in achieving, but in becoming.
To our students — past, present, and future — you are the heartbeat of this legacy. May you continue to grow, be grounded in values and upli ed by the care of a community who believe deeply in who you are and all you can become and, in turn, upli the people around you.
Mr Bambang Purnama Putra Shakni Vice-Principal
Vice-Principal’s Statement
It’s a privilege to be part of this community during such a special milestone — 55 years of learning, growth, and service. Although I only joined the school at the beginning of 2025, it’s already clear that this is a place built on strong traditions, meaningful relationships, and a deep sense of purpose.
Since its founding, the school has been guided by the motto “Ready to Serve,” a simple yet powerful phrase that continues to shape the way we learn and lead. In recent years, this spirit has been enriched by the values of Gratitude, Respect, and Compassion — values that are now woven into daily life across the school and reflected in the way students and sta care for one another and the wider world.
This co ee table book captures just a glimpse of the many moments, people, and stories that have made the school what it is today. As we look back with pride and appreciation, we also look forward with hope — ready to continue this journey together, grounded in values that truly matter.

In the process, they learn to be respectful towards the cleaners and grateful for the clean environment they live in.

Leading and facilitating play deepens empathy, patience and responsibility. For the younger children, the experience o ers joy, confidence, and a sense of achievement through completing a series of physical activities and art pieces.
SEC 3 - JOYFUL FRIDAY WITH THE ELDERLY
In Secondary 3, students have the opportunity to volunteer for Hearty Bites, serving senior citizens in the neighbouring blocks of flats. Tung Ling Eldercare Centre plays a pivotal role in linking the school with the elderly. This partnership provides an authentic and regular platform for our students to reach out to the residents, and through these experiences, students develop compassion and learn to be respectful in communicating with people of di erent generations. The students also gain fresh perspectives about issues faced by the elderly and pick up useful skills for their life experiences. The school was awarded the PA Community Spirit Merit Award for this signature Learning for Life Programme.

Broadricians
BROADRICK’S HORIZON
NEW PATHS. NEW POSSIBILITIES
Broadrick Secondary School envisions a future where GRC 3.0 values shine in every journey that we take. Through GLOW initiatives, the 5 Languages of Love, and cultural exchanges across borders to Batam, Rayong and Ho Chi Minh City, our learners explore, connect, and grow.
Closer to home, Broadricians cultivate compassion, gratitude, and respect as we “Adopt the Block,”- ready to serve and upli our community.
Together, we ignite dreams, nurture hearts, and build bridges of kindness, understanding, and purpose— one spark at a time.
OVERSEAS
LEARNING
JOURNEY TO INDONESIA
“When Broadricians carry curiosity and compassion across borders, they transform both themselves and the communities they serve.Journey to Indonesia”
OVERSEAS LEARNING JOURNEY TO THAILAND
“Through acts of kindness, education becomes a bridge that connects hearts across cultures.”
OVERSEAS LEARNING JOURNEY TO VIETNAM
“Overseas learning is not just seeing the world, but improving it, one meaningful act at a time.”
ADOPT-A-BLOCK PROGRAMME
BUILDING BONDS, BRIDGING HEARTS
The Adopt-a-Block Programme seeks to nurture Broadricians who embody the values of Gratitude, Respect, and Compassion by fostering sustained and meaningful relationships with seniors and residents in our adopted blocks.
As part of their 2:168 Service Commitment, the Uniformed Groups “adopt” designated residential blocks within the community — Blocks 93 and 97 at Jalan Dua, as well as Blocks 95 and 99 at Old Airport Road.
Through this initiative, Broadricians take ownership of serving the seniors and residents by conducting regular engagement sessions and service projects. These activities are designed to promote care, strengthen connections and enhance community well-being while providing students with authentic opportunities to put GRC values into practice.
LOVE IN EVERY LITTLE GESTURE –
A HUG SAYS IT ALL
At Broadrick Secondary School, the Language of Love in GRC 3.0 reminds students that sometimes the simplest gestures are the most powerful. A warm hug — one of the five love languages — is encouraged as a way to express Gratitude, Respect, and Compassion to family members. Alongside words of a rmation, acts of service, quality time, and thoughtful gi s, a heartfelt hug helps Broadricians connect deeply with their loved ones, strengthening bonds and nurturing a caring home environment.
