LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR Greetings division 64, Hope everyone has been enjoying being back at school. Key Club is back in the swing of things and so is a busy year for many. As Key Clubbers we are committed to making time to serve others and to unite to make our home school and community a better place! Keep recruiting new members, spicing up meetings, and make plans to keep members active through out the year! How can we make this year our best yet- its simple, be passionate about everything we do as servant leaders! I am looking forward to getting to know you all through club visits and through joint club, and division events. This newsletter will cover new PNW updates and a reminder about the upcoming DCM. Lets make this year great by serving our home, schools, and communities through service! FUTURE GOALS: -each school raise 1,000 dollars for Kiwanis Children’s Cancer Program -educate members about Key Club International -figure out who is interested in attending DCON so we can fundraise -attend the next division 64 DCM…date to be determined

September DCM: October 14th 11-12:30 at Lakeridge High School. We will be doing event planning for the year (DCON, fundraisers…) and there will be snacks! Come meet new friends and start off the year right!

K-KIDS ABOUT K-KIDS K-KIDSisthe youngest and fastest growing branch of the Kiwanisfamily, mainly targeting elementary students. Like Builder’sClub, it is“student-led”, and buildscharacter, individuality, leadership, morals, and respect. K-Kidsgive studentsthe opportunity to develop in a positive environment, serving their schoolsand communities. The rst K-Kidswas chartered in 1999, with now 36,000 members worldwide. Speci cally, within our District, we currently have 102 K-KidsClubs.

K-FAMILY TIPS FOR THE BEGINNING OF THE

SCHOOL YEAR Introduce Yourself: The rst step of increasing your K-Family Relations is simply introducing yourself! This can be as simple as sending an email t o your sponsoring Kiwanis Clubs or saying hi at a meeting.

Attend Kiwanis Meetings: With the school year back in session our calendars seem t o ll up quickly but don’t start slacking on attending Kiwanis meetings! You should be aiming to attend one meeting per month and if you aren’t always able to attend, try going to one of their service projects!

Reach out to Different Branches: Did you know that there are ve other branches out the Kiwanis Family? K-Kids, Builders Club, Circle K, Aktion Club, and Kiwanis! Reach out to any of these branches and attend one of their meetings.

Start Planning for Kiwanis One Day: Kiwanis One Day is a great way to connect with the rest of your Kiwanis-Family! This year, Kiwanis One Day will be October 28th. To learn more about Kiwanis One Day, read down below!

KIWANIS ONE DAY Each year, the Kiwanis-Family branches around the world come together on the fourth Saturday of October for Kiwanis One Day. Kiwanis One Day is a day of united service among all of the K-Family branches recognized by Kiwanis International. Each Key Club is encouraged to join with the rest of their K-Family - K-Kids, Builders Club, Circle K, Aktion Club, and Kiwanis - to take part in Kiwanis One Day on October 28th.

Monday: Webinar

Join Andrew Baek (Lt.G of Division 21), Jane Tang (Lt.G of Division 56), and Danielle Bae (District Project Chair) in a webinar focused on expanding general knowledge of KCCP and discussing fundraising ideas/tips to kick off the week. There will be a Q&A session, so come with any questions you may have!

Tuesday: Social Media Day

Email a picture along with your name to project@pnwkeyclub.org for an overlay! (an example overlay is provided here: https://tinyurl.com/exampleoverlay). Share your picture on social media, and pledge to fundraise a certain amount of money for KCCP (it doesn’t have to be a huge amount. Every dollar counts!) A link where online donations can be made will be provided for you to distribute to relatives and friends. Individuals that reach their fundraising goals will be recognized in the following biweekly email and on social media!

The PNW Districts Projects committee will work with the PNW Key Club Blog (or PLOG) to release a handful of stories about KCCP on this day! If you have had an impactful experience with KCCP, (whether it be a cancer story or a story about fundraising), please submit your story using this link: https://goo.gl/forms/Aq9QyFD1O5WUFcc32 Through sharing these stories, we hope to remind you of the impact we’re making, and inspire you to continue to serve!

Friday: Community Outreach Day

Your Lt.Gs will plan a divisional fundraiser that involves reaching out to the community. However, all schools should partake in community outreach simultaneously with their divisional fundraiser. This is our biggest fundraising day so let’s go all out!

The divisional level of Key Club is created when multiple key clubs from the same general area are combined. Each division is overlooked by a Lieutenant Governor.

Division 64 is made up of six high schools in the Portland metro area. -Tigard -Tualatin -West Linn -Wilsonville -Lakeridge -Sherwood

PNW District The district level of Key Club is formed by combining many divisions from the same general area. Each district has a district governor who is elected at a district’s DCON.

In the midst of serene nature and fluctuating weather conditions lies the great Pacific Northwest District (PNW).The Pacific Northwest is geographically the largest district of Key Club International. The district spans from western Canada to northern California: with Alaska, Washington, Oregon, and the pan-handle of Idaho in between. The Pacific Northwest encompasses nearly 1.8 million square miles and includes over 300 clubs that operate under 45 divisions. Through rain or shine, snow or hail, Key Clubbers in the Pacific Northwest dedicate countless hours to their communities and internationally, and are always Proud 'N' Willing to serve!
