70’s We e k e n d

Brighton is a great cosmopolitan city with an excellent sea front and something for everyone. When you think about Brighton, the pier is likely to be one of the first things that pops into your mind. Dating back to the late Victorian period, the Palace Pier has everything you would hope for and more. Today there are not many places in the world like Brighton that manage to mix an old fashioned seaside resort with an up-and-coming city. Brighton’s Theatre Royal is well known for bringing West End shows to the seaside. Not only can you watch a great piece of theatre, but you can also revel in the history of the stunning building. The Royal Albion Hotel is a Regency Style Hotel built in 1826 which offers a warm and friendly environment in a premier position directly opposite Brighton Pier. So, if you are looking for a seafront hotel in Brighton, you won’t get much closer than this. Facing the sea, it’s right at the heart of the action. All of the hotels bedrooms are en-suite and provide modern facilities including television, radio, trouser press, telephone and hairdryer. Many of the rooms feature luxury Spa baths and stunning Sea Views. A spa bath facility in your own room means you don’t have to leave your room to treat yourself to some fantastic bubbly relaxation. The Royal Albion’s Jenny restaurant serves succulent traditional cuisine, and the fantastic views out over the English Channel make dining here an absolute pleasure.

Camber Sands can offer a unique combination of miles and miles of unspoilt sand dunes with loads to do in the day as well as the evening. Away from the beach the beautiful old Port Town of Rye deserves exploring, along with the old smugglers hideouts dotted along the coast and of course the iconic White Cliffs – the traditional greeting for anyone sailing back to England to the most beautiful Sussex coastal location! It’s a hidden oasis with a Blue Flag beach, lovely sea breezes, and lots and lots to do for all the family.

Popular Accommodation, offers you a comfortable Apartment at an outstanding price. The Apartments include a fitted kitchen, private bathroom and lounge with TV. All the Popular Apartments have either 1 or 2 bedrooms, so they can sleep up to 4 or 6 people. This weekend includes top class 70’s entertainment with quizzes, competitions and much more.

L i o n s Hotel

Criccieth is situated in Gwynedd, North Wales, it is a small town but its very compactness makes it an attractive resort for short breaks. The resort is located on the beautiful Llyn peninsula, the finger of land pointing toward Ireland in the north west corner of Wales. Criccieth Castle overlooks Cardigan Bay and the rocky promontory separates Criccieth’s second most popular attractions the East and West beaches. All streets lead to the castle or at least seem to have a castle view. But if it’s not the castle at the end of the street then its the sea ! There are fantastic sea views either west toward the Llyn peninsula, east toward Snowdonia and Porthmadog, or across Cardigan Bay toward Harlech and its very own medieval castle. Below the castle are the two beaches, the West beach is a sandy beach, while the East beach is a pebbly beach that sits comfortably snuggled up to the castle rock and the lower town. While sitting on the East beach nothing is too far away. Whether its fish and chips, “world famous” ice cream, a beach Cafe or a game of pitch and put Golf everything is close at hand. Owned and loved for over thirty years by 3 generations of the Brown/Burnett family, the Lion Hotel is famous for it’s welcoming atmosphere. With stunning views of mountains, coast and castle the Lion Hotel Criccieth offers the perfect retreat for all ages. The Lion is the only hotel based in the very heart of Criccieth; the pearl of the Cambrian Coast on the shores of Snowdonia’. This beautiful unspoilt seaside town provides the perfect base for exploring both the Llyn Peninsula and the Snowdonia National Park, both areas of outstanding natural beauty. Unwind, and discover all the magic that Criccieth itself and it’s landmark castle have to offer or join the Cambrian Coast Railway – for a fabulous ride along this stunning coastline. Hidden coves, fantastic beaches, nature trails, mountain hikes etc are in abundance and just waiting to be discovered.

Day 2 Today we travel to the Isle of Angelsey, first stop at the Llanfaripwlgogogoch for coffee and the Pringle Woollen Mill. On then to Plas Newydd - a National trust property situated on the banks of the Menai Strait and home to the Marquess of Anglesey. The tour takes in the 18th century house which commands spectacular views of Snowdonia, the Military Museum and of course the lovely gardens which have colour all year round. Day 3 Morning at leisure to explore Criccieth or browse around the craft shops. Afternoon at Sir Clough William Ellis’s Portmeirion the famous Italianate Village with it’s fabulous coastal gardens. Day 4 Today pass through impressive Beddgerlert, winners of ‘ Europe in Bloom’ and then onto Betws-y-Coed for lunch. After lunch travel along the scenic Conwy valley to the famous Bodnant Gardens. Covering over 80 acres it is one of the finest gardens in Britain. Return, travelling along the opposite shores of the Conwy Valley and through the Crimea Pass’ to Blaenau Ffestiniog. Day 5 Return home.

Torquay is situated on the southwestern coast of England, forming one third of Torbay, on the western side of the bay. It has a mild microclimate, receiving among the longest hours of sunlight per day in the south west of the United Kingdom. Renowned for its healthful climate, the town earned the nickname of the English Riviera and favourable comparisons to Montpellier. Torquay was the home of the writer Agatha Christie, who lived most of her life there. The town contains an “Agatha Christie Mile”, a tour with plaques, dedicated to her life and work. On the seafront is the beautiful Victorian Pavilion. The adjacent “Friends Fountain” complements the Victorian architecture. The Hotel Richmond is located about a ten minute walk, mainly by private path, to the Abbey Sands seafront. Here you can look forward to a warm welcome from our General Manager and staff, together with friendly service and comfortable accommodation. And when it comes to food you will not be disappointed. Start each day with a hearty breakfast, and in the evening look forward to a mouth-watering dinner menu guaranteed to satisfy the healthiest of holiday appetites. The hotel features a spacious restaurant, comfortable bar lounge and an entertainment lounge with regular live evening entertainment. There is also a sheltered garden and deck terrace overlooking the bay. Hotel facilities include
