OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE COMMITTEE
One of the new projects of the Cluster for this year is the start of new work committees for other important areas of the companies of the Sector. That's why on May 3 we had our first Operational Excellence Committee meeting at the HCQ plant. The meeting presented the work that the Cluster has done through other work committees that have been operating for some time and the benefits that these projects have brought to the companies involved. An SMED implementation success case was presented by HCQ to reduce the time of change of coil in cutting station. Our hosts presented the analysis they carried out to solve the problem, as well as the scenarios they presented and the successful implementation of the most efficient alternative. The rest of the group had the experience of learning from this case, which will allow them to replicate lessons learned, tools and successful methods for solving similar situations in their respective plants.
CROSS SECURITY AUDITS
The Harman Plant in Mexico opened its doors to carry out this activity of the Human Resources Subcommittee. During this session, a tour was carried out at the plant that allowed us to know the processes and identify unsafe acts and conditions. At the end of the tour, the observations of each one of the attendees were presented, as well as suggestions for their implementation, identification of areas with risk, signage. This activity was attended by 20 experts in the field. On the part of Bosal, progress was made in the observations received by the group during the visit to its facilities. It is worth mentioning that this activity began as a proposal within the Human Resources Committee with low expectations of participation by companies. However, the participants have experienced the great utility of this collaborative activity and each time more collaborators are added to this project.
MEETING WITH THE QUERETARO CLUSTER NETWORK With the purpose of continuing to promote collaborative work and share best practices, the second meeting of the different clusters that make up the state industry at the QuerĂŠtano de Herramentales Institute was held. This seeks to standardize operational and governance criteria that give certainty to the business community and Industrial through the strengthening of the Clusterization model as a tool for Economic Development region of. The purpose of the meeting is for each organization to have the opportunity to share the procedures or actions of its organization in the aforementioned areas as part of an exploratory study that allows the aggregation of good practices of each one and to achieve the objective of the Cluster Network.
MEETING OF THE HUMAN RESOURCES COMMITTEE
On the 17th of September, the Human Resources Committee met at the ITESM campus of Queretaro, in order to work in collaboration with this educational institution on the way to the Human Resources Symposium. The meeting began with a brief presentation about the work carried out by the educational institution and the liaison delegate expressed his enthusiasm and marked interest in working in collaboration with the companies of the Cluster. That is why it was offered to those in charge of recruitment to participate in the ITESM job exchange to be able to publish their vacancies, look for applicants or
request students for internships or professional stays.
The project of the National Council for Standardization and Cautification of Labor Competencies was also presented about having a better qualified staff certifying their skills and work skills. The results of the Rotation and Absenteeism Survey of March and April were also presented. Finally, the official launch of the 2018 Human Resources Symposium was held, which will be the second edition of this event and will be held in the auditorium of our host.
MEETING WITH THE NATIONAL CLUSTER NETWORK
The National Meeting of Clusters of the Automotive Sector in Mexico Is Held With the Topics of "Priority Financing and Development of Suppliers." And the "Perspective of the Renegotiation of the Free Trade Agreement with North America." With the purpose of supporting in the development of suppliers, financing and knowing the prospects of the renegotiation of the Free Trade Agreement with North America (NAFTA), the National Meeting of Clusters of the Automotive Sector of Mexico was inaugurated today in the University's headquarters edition Autonomous University of
Guadalajara. The ceremony was attended by the president of the AMIA Eduardo Solís; the director of the Heavy Industries and High Technology in Secretary of Economy Verónica Orendain de los Santos; the general director of the Institute for the Promotion of Foreign Trade Rubén Reséndiz Pérez; the Deputy Director General of Banking of Companies of Bancomext Rebeca Pizano; the Deputy Director of Productive Chains of Nafin, Evelyn Calderón Gutiérrez and the director of the Automotive Cluster of Jalisco Alexandro Burgueño Rodríguez.
COURSE OF ADMINISTRATION OF INVENTORIES AND WAREHOUSES Following the training program, this month continues with the delivery of the Second Course of Inventory Management and Warehouses. This course was held at the Encore Hotel facilities and lasted two days. The importance of this type of training sought by companies lies in the high cost involved in the mismanagement of inventories, as a result of which the assignment of responsibility is generally delegated to non-corresponding areas. The topics of the course revolve around these issues and many more, regardless of the level of effectiveness in which the management of inventories and the warehouse are being carried out, the industry is advancing by leaps and bounds and receiving constant training from experts is what makes a company always at the forefront. It is for that reason that the Cluster worries that the human talent of the automotive industry is always capable. On this occasion, we have the participation of 20 people representing 10 companies in the automotive sector.
7TH INTERNATIONAL RUBBER JOURNEY The Seventh Edition of the Hule - Metal Seminar took place last May in the facilities of the Hotel Misiรณn Jurica. This project was born as an initiative of the Lord of Mexico company with the intention of creating a specialized forum in the sector of Rubber - Metal where the companies of the sector can know the latest trends, train and have business opportunities with the requirements of the processes in Rubber. Lord de Mexico has done an excellent job in organization and training that have merited the confidence of the participants year after year to have carried out successfully the seventh edition. As every year, the Cluster was invited to present a paper to the participants of the Rubber Journey related to best practices.
MAY 25 CONCLUDES PROJECT OF INDIRECT PROVIDERS OF AMIQRO The president of the Association of Industrial Mipymes de Querétaro (AMIQRO) A.C. Beatriz Hernández, headed the closing of the Competitive Capacity Development Program for Indirect Materials and Services Providers for the Automotive Industry, through which micro and small companies in the automotive industry received training to access the supply chain of the sector. The Polytechnic University of Querétaro (UPQ), the Center for Innovation and Corporate Development S.C. (INNODESC), the Automotive State Cluster, the Secretariat of Sustainable Development of the State Government and the Secretariat of Sustainable Development of the municipality of Querétaro. In the facilities of the UPQ, the president of AMIQRO, Beatriz Hernández, indicated that the program was launched with the aim of strengthening competencies in quality and management of companies, so that eventually they obtain the certifications that open their doors to markets. global .
MAY 29 ACTIVITY KAIZEN IN MIQRO On this occasion, the dynamics took place at the MIQRO plant. The activity consisted in observing the process and contributing improvements for the increase of the productivity in the manufacture of one of a piece for his client SEGAC. On the other hand, in parallel to the proposed activity, other general observations were made regarding safety or maintenance within the production period. We thank the
MIQRO team for receiving the Kaizen group. Likewise, the results of the previous Kaizen carried out in Autocast were presented in order to inform the group about the benefits obtained according to the suggestions and analyzes they made in that plant.

RELEVANT NEWS CONTINENTAL OPENS CENTER FOR RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT WITH INVESTMENT OF 50 MILLION EUROS The manufacturer of tires and automotive components Continental opened a Research and Development Center in the city of QuerĂŠtaro with an investment of 50 million euros, which adds to the one that already has in Guadalajara. The aim of this new Center is to increase Continental's technological capacity for innovation and research, reaffirming its position as a key player in building the mobility of the future.
The center began operations with 160 people, but the expectation is that it will close the year with 400, and that in 2022 it will have 1,000 employees. The place has electronic laboratories and cars with the highest technology, with spaces that encourage innovation and the creation of new ideas, as well as places dedicated to art and to the recreation of its collaborators. The 10,600 square meters that make up the Center, were designed to promote and encourage creativity, collaboration and innovation among its employees. mayo 2018 YANFENG AUTOMOTIVE OPENS TECHNICAL CENTER IN QUERÉTARO
The Chinese manufacturer of automotive interiors, Yanfeng Global Automotive Interiors, recently opened its Mexico Technical Center, which is located in the O'Donnnel Airport Industrial Park, in the municipality of El Marqués. Yanfeng produces parts for auto interiors, such as: cabins, instrument panels, mechanisms for opening doors and lighting technology. From this center, for which they invested 50 million dollars, the company will work in the development and design of products and technology for the automotive industry. The company has 5 years of operations in Querétaro and already has 1,200 employees.
In this regard, Nathan Bowen, vice president and general manager of Yanfeng Automotive Interiors North America, said that with this center, which is the new location in North America, it will be possible to offer better service and attention to its customers such as BMW and General Motors, among others, to which he added: "This is important for the North American region and the automotive industry. Mexico means growth for industry, research and development.
