The Gastein cure The cure as a self regulation therapy procedure has a long tradition, espcially in Gastein. The medical cures available are the unique Healing Gallery, the thermal water and vapour. The most effective element of the three healing methods is the pure gas radon, along with the unique combination of warmth and high altitude. The Gastein Thermal Cure is effective with illnesses of the musculoskeletal system (i.e. Morbus Bechterew, Fibromyalgie-Syndrom, chronically Polyarthritis) of the respiratory tracts (for instance Bronchitis, Bronchial Asthma) and of the skin (i.e. Neurodermatitis, Psoriasis) It stimulates the cell metabolism, releases pain killing substances in the body, and encourages the body to repress inflammation as well as stabilising the immune system. The warmth supports blood circulation and the altitude encourages the oxygen supply.
Gasteiner Heilstollen It represents the most effective Gastein cure. The Heilstollen therapy is a combination of a gentle overheating therapy and radon therapy with increasing heat (37 and 41,5 degrees Celsius) and air humidity (70 to 100%). The radon content in the air is 44 Bq/l. The respiratory tracts and the skin absorb the radon. Three to four sessions are reasonable for a therapeutic point of view. Each session is supervised by a doctor. An intro visit is possible twice a week.
Radon-Thermalwater Therapie The utilisation temperature of the radon thermal water is between 36 and 40 degrees Celsius, the amount of Radon in the water: 40nCi/l. The radon inert gas escapes from the thermal water and enters the body through the respiratory tract and the skin. It unfolds its healing effect there before it completely disintegrates after about three hours. The defence mechanism in the organism is stimulated and the natural warmth fosters circulation.
Gastein Vapor Bath The radon thermal vapour bath is situated above the Elisabeth spring in Bad Gastein. The patient sits in a box-type bath, yet is allowed to breathe normal ambient air. Hence, an intense radon absorption via the skin with little burden on the circulatory system is provided. A vapour bath at a temperature of 36 - 41 degrees Celsius and high humidity takes 20 - 30 min and is particularly suitable for patients with limited tolerance to physical stress.
Arrival by car, train and air: Gastein, your holiday destination, is easy and quick to reach from all points of the compass thanks to its convenient location on major, modern transit arteries.
