VIEWING6:

It was April 28, 1944, one bright morning in Allan Town located in Kingston, Jamaica. The weather was 85°F, the rooster was crowing, the fowls were sleeping in the backyard. The smell of ackee and saltfish with fry dumpling filled the rooms from the kitchen. Young Gary and Jean were heard waking up and ready for a new day. All of a sudden, pregnant Daisyann yelled, "Ainsley, the baby is coming!" Ainsley ran for the car and took Daisyann to Victoria Jubilee Hospital in Kingston where she gave birth to a beautiful baby boy, Ronald Gill The world would never be the same
Ronald Gill was born premature and fragile, coming into this world as an infant fighting for his life He was the third child, joining two older siblings Gary and Jean, and later became the big brother to younger brothers Dennis and Mickey He was the apple of his mother's eye, always a prankster and causing some ruckus in the house He was, as Jamaicans say, the washbelly for his mother, and the apple of his grandmother’s eye Granny would call Ronald to the side and slip him 2 pence and 5 pence and tell him to "Sush, nu tell nobadde " If Ronald wasn't tricking his sister Jean and taking her lunch, he was known to outsmart the neighbors with his clever schemes He once hid a neighbor's horse right in the family dining room while he innocently ate his lunch causing his dad to have a conniption when he found out
From age 4-15 Ronald went to Central Branch School, where he received the name Ronnie He graduated with honors, as Ronnie was very intellectual as well as personable Living in a country where opportunities were limited, Ronnie always wanted to see the world He knew this only came from traveling outside Jamaica and decided to become a sailor He had a passion for swimming and loved the sea Ronnie was known to some to swim like a shark. He realized this dream and became a sailor for some years.

In 1967, after a few years of traveling, Ronnie came back to his home in Jamaica. He got a job at University College Hospital where he worked diligently. However, things were different. His parents had moved to America, and Jamaica had undergone political and social change. Ronnie felt the urge to participate in this change. He was always a rebel with a cause. He became a Rastafarian, which came with many obstacles, as they were fighting for a revolution. He also joined the PNP (People's National Party) and worked to provide housing for Jamaicans who were economically challenged. As a result, a group of men plotted the assassination of Ronnie. One evening, these men ambushed Ronnie in his home with his wife and children These men left him for dead However, Ronnie, who was familiar with fighting for his life even as an infant, fought for his life again He survived the attack, and after recovery, took his wife and children and left Jamaica
In 1977, Ronnie joined his parents in America where he discovered a whole new life He became a family man and worked with Ford Motor Company in Metuchen, NJ, working on cars and making new friends In 1985, he later moved his family to Brooklyn, NY, for job opportunities He was e He was a hard worker, always on time, and n the highlights of moving to Brooklyn was reu later acquired the name Gilly from these frie playing the best Jamaican music, from Burni skanking and joking, with the best Jamaican his Clarks to match Gilly loved to cook steam side He loved to read thriller and action nov
In 2008, Gilly retired from Metro North and p America for health-related issues. He lived in enjoyed watching politics on TV and discuss passion. He could be found roasting some br and eating bun and cheese. Reading his Bible
On September 12, Gilly, known to me as Dad admission, he accepted Christ into his life. A He took his last breath on October 31, 2025, also by his side He left behind a wife, Jennif brother Gary Gill and big sister Jean Holmes Susanne A large host of friends and family departing, "One love”

I did not want to leave you It was just my time to go
I know your heart is breaking So, I need to let you know That although you can no longer see me I'll be forever by your side

I promise time will numb the pain And help dry the tears you've cried You can reach me in your memories
Just think of me, I will be there
In your dreams, we can visit yesteryear Where we didn't have a care
Please carry on and live your life

FIRST READING: ECCLESIASTES 3:1-8
To everything there is a season, and a time to every matter under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; a time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; a time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace.

SECOND READING: 1 THESSALONIANS 4:13-18
Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. According to the Lord's word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage one another with these words.
The Word of the Lord. People: Thanks be to God.

Family Tree
A limb has fallen from the family tree I hear a voice that whispers, ‘Grieve not for me’

Remember the best times, the laughter, the songs
The good I lived while I was strong Continue my heritage, I’m counting on you Keep on smiling, the sun will shine through.
My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest
Remembering all…how I was truly blessed Continue traditions, no matter how small Go on with your lives, don’t stare at the wall

I miss you all dearly so keep up your chin Until that fine day we’re together again.
