Please remember, don’t be afraid to ask your club members for help! Also, as your club presidents should inform you soon, the deadline for the ELIMINATE hands has been extended until December. Secretaries, please remember to send in your CMRFs on time, and treasurers, remember that Early Bird dues are due November 1st! And editors: remember to make newsletters and send them to your club members, sponsoring Kiwanis club, myself, and email@example.com. Lastly, if you haven’t added me to your home Key Club group yet, please add me to it ASAP. It’s just a way for me to stay updated. As always, if you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Spread the word.
Find out more at www.keyclub.org/keyclubweek A Key Club International program of Kiwanis International
MONDAY, NOV. 7 Show your K in every way—Show people what Key Club is all about! Spread the word by wearing Key Club gear and publicizing Key Club Week in local stores, your school Web site, community newspapers—even on the radio. TUESDAY, NOV. 8 Kudos to the Key players—Personally thank all the Key Club supporters you know—teachers, advisors and other Key players. Write thank-you notes, host an appreciation dinner or do something uniquely your own style to recognize the contributions of these special people. WEDNESDAY, NOV. 9 Connect the Ks—Key Club is the largest high school service organization in the world and is a member of the Kiwanis family. Celebrate the entire family of Kiwanis by getting the whole gang involved. THURSDAY, NOV. 10 Bring a friend to Key Club—More members = more service. Bring a friend, or two, or more to your next Key Club meeting. Download recruitment resources. FRIDAY, NOV. 11 Your way—This is your club’s chance to do its own thing and make its mark. Pick a project, plan a recruitment party or combine activities from the other Key Club Week days.
Friday, December 9 to Sunday, December 11 Could be a life changing experience!
Kiwanis International’s leadership education program for high school age students Key Leader’s mission is: to provide a life-changing experience that inspires young people to achieve their personal best through service leadership There are large and small group activities There is a mixture of information, discussion, interactive events and presentations NJ District of Kiwanis provides all chaperones, background checks are required
“Key Leader opened my eyes to certain aspects of who I was. Through the program, I learned more about myself through the Key Leader principles and what it means to be a servant leader within my home, school, and community. I think students, whether they're already leaders or looking to become one, should attend Key Leader because not only do you make friendships that'll last a lifetime, but the program shows you that no matter who you are and despite what you may personally think, you really do have what it takes to become a leader.“ - Nicole Darrah, NJ Key Club Governor
"I went into the program shy and with a closed off mind just counting how many days I had until I got to leave and go home. By the end of the program, I built amazing friendships, learned the value of team work, gained confidence, and learned a lot about myself in the process. It was an enlightening and amazing experience." - Roland Johnson, Union Catholic HS “I walked into Key Leader extremely shy, anxious and self conscious, not wanting to go. But I walked out happier than ever with a bunch of new friends, confidence and inner strength. It was an amazing experience that I won't forget. My only regret? Not jumping right in from the first day and participating right off the bat. Remember, it doesn't matter if you don't know anyone. Because when you leave,
you'll know pretty much everyone." Monika Szumski – Roxbury HS
