Warren County Economic Development is pleased to be a part of the 2020 Warren and Fountain County Fact Book. The people, businesses, and destinations within the bicounty area are having a tremendous impact on building a welcoming place to reside and invest. There is much innovation and energy directed toward infusing technology into our agricultural and manufacturing sectors to produce goods in the most effective, costefficient manner. There has been great local interest to test and share in the innovation process so that our area can be competitive in the worldwide market. Our communities have also become stronger because of

Ben Dispennett acting-director educational efforts. The local education systems are producing individuals ready for technical fields or advanced education. In the past year, students as young as eight years old engaged in computer programming through a fun, educational experience called CoderDojo at the Warren County Learning Center. It is energizing to see the next generation experiencing this type of training. We are also excited about the current and future renewable energy projects that will continue to provide oppor-
tunities for our local economy. Sustainability efforts from consumers and industries have created demands to augment the nation’s electrical grid with renewable energy sources. Locally, these projects strengthen the local economy during development, increase value for residents, and create opportunities for further investments in our communities. These efforts are a great challenge and require strong leadership from our local governments, businesses, schools, and community foundations. Future success is tightly coupled to projects that cross traditional county boundaries within the region. Thankfully, we have leadership dedicated to the vision of building on this foundation.
