BASKETBALL OFFICIALS (2-10) Winter Employment Applications accepted August-October Minimum Qualifications: 19 years of age for adult programs, 17 years for youth games; thorough knowledge of National Federation basketball rules; understanding of officiating mechanics; dependable, conscientious, consistent, willing to hustle; MSHSAA certification strongly preferred; membership in a recognized officials’ association preferred. Pay: $8.50 - $10.50 for youth basketball games; $12.75 - $16.25 for high school basketball; $16.00 - $17.00 for adult basketball games. Responsibilities: Referee youth and/or adult basketball; represent Parks and Recreation in a positive, professional manner; handle game-related problems with players, coaches, or fans. Hours: Youth games are generally on Saturday mornings and Tuesday and Thursday evenings; adult games are Sunday through Thursday evenings depending upon gym availability. 5th grade basketball begins in November, 6th grade basketball begins in February, High School basketball begins in early January and Adult basketball begins in December.

BASKETBALL SCOREKEEPERS (6-8) Winter Employment Applications accepted August-October Minimum Qualifications: 16 years of age preferred; understanding of the game of basketball and scoring procedures; dependable and conscientious. Pay: $7.50 - $8.00 per game. Responsibilities: Keep score and all pertinent game records at high school and/or adult basketball games; represent Parks and Recreation in a positive, professional, friendly manner. Hours: High school games begin in January and continue through March; adult games begin in December and continue through March; evenings vary depending upon gym availability.
