6 Thirty years
Every Morning It’s 5:30 in the morning. I just woke up and still need more rest. What a beautiful morning. I can see the mountain trees and birds on one side and the ocean on the other. It’s just fantastic. Yesterday a technician from IKEA came here and installed these new LCD windows. Initially I thought it’s a stupid idea to spend so much money on these high tech gadgets but see, now I really feel like being at this imaginary place. I told them to leave only one of the windows untouched, the window with the marina view. When I was still a child, my father used to take me there, in front of that window, and we used to stand there for couple of minutes and talk. Those days, buildings were new, clean and shiny. We could easily see Marina from up here and rays of sunshine were giving light to our sweet home. Now all those towers are dark and dirty. Thickness of smoke and pollution doesn’t let eyes to have the old and beautiful view. Even the marina is not as beautiful as what it used to be when I was just a child. The people using marina taxies filled the water with trash and dirt.
The breakfast should be delivered by now. It’s going to be a tasty breakfast. It comes with Omelette, bread, cheese, tomato and a cup of hot tea. Some days ago I subscribed to one of the best food suppliers in the city. It sends the meal on time and exactly as what I have ordered. The meal comes through tubes, three times a day. Each house has its own. It can be food, grocery or even tax papers. This system works like an old computer network

I told the technician to leave this window untouched as it reminds me of all my childish memories, my sweet memories. Also it reminds me of something more important, of the reality of my life.
7 Thirty years with cables and switches. The city underground is filled with tubes. I’ve heard someone is working on a new invention to make these tubes wireless. I still remember my mother making sandwiches for my breakfast. And for dinner we used to order pizza. The delivery guy used to knock on our door. My father had a habit of tipping those delivery guys and in response a happy smile was a fair return. Our society thought we are wasting much of our time talking to each other. So every day we came up with some new technologies to avoid meeting each other. These days, the only thing you need to do is to sign‐in your supermarket portal, pick what you want and it will be delivered within thirty seconds through the tubes. And the bill will be deducted from your account. What comes out of tubes is nicely packed, fresh and the most important thing, much of your precious time is saved.
It is 6 in the morning. I have to reach the metro otherwise my whole day will be spoiled. It’s just a ten minute walk. I lost my Oxymask yesterday and breathing outside became frustrating. So I bought a new, latest fashion, Rayban Oxymask which is attached to its sunglasses. It’s the latest design and hopefully by wearing it lots of girls will look at handsome me. It’s odd, lesser they see the true me, more they like me. The bad thing, all the residents are in hurry to get an elevator now. Every house has its own lift cabin but routes to the ground floor are few. So usually

You know something; my uncle met his girl friend in an ATM queue. Both of them were standing in the queue to use the ATM to pay their credit card bills, and so they began to talk about life, how long they waste everyday in such queues and what can be done. Now we are in the lifestyle they were wishing for, but he didn’t know, it was the same queue caused him to fall in love, marry the same girl and happily live.
8 Thirty years it’s going to be a traffic jam there. It takes three minutes to be my turn and when the signal becomes green, whoosh, I’m in the ground floor. And my house goes into stand by, lights go off, it cleans itself, washing machine starts, dish washer does its job and batteries start charging. It will manage electricity consumption and there won’t be a peak or off peak time. It’s a sunny day, like every day, and I can see faces through the morning dust. What a beautiful morning. Some pretty girls are looking at me. Does it mean they like me, or it’s just because of this new mask which made me look handsome.
I work for a news agency called The Daily Dubai. It’s one of the biggest news agencies in Dubai. It has got a complete floor in Burj Dubai. Today, all the news agencies use multiple forms of content streaming. Somehow they are a combination of the classic TV channels mixed with internet. You can choose what to get or the receiver device will choose it for you. And radios just disappeared ten years ago. Radio killed the rock star and now internet killed the radio.

By 7 o’clock I have to be in the office. At 8 o’clock I have to broadcast a live report about an inventor. The inventor who is going to make wireless tubes or better be said wireless package delivery system. And after the report I have to go into the desert and make another report from a man who lives there just with his horse, without any electricity or technology, he travels across the Empty Quarter. Then I come back to the office and I’m going to have my lunch and relax. One of my friends is going to have a birthday party tonight and there can be a great chance of meeting someone single and friendly. Who knows, maybe at one of these parties I meet someone, and we match emotionally, too.
9 Thirty years It’s been two years I’m working for this news agency. I began my career here when I was just a student, as an internship job, and they liked my way of presenting reports and so I got the job. But I’m still a fresher here. There’s a long journey to happiness, to be an experienced media journalist. It doesn’t take long to reach Burj Dubai. Marina is in the middle of the city, what if I was living in Sharjah, oh god, it is nightmare. I always carry an eBook to read while I’m inside metro. Metros have different tariff for tickets. One of them is VIP ticket which comes with fresh oxygen inside the cabin, so you can take off your mask and see other face unmasked. Actually breathing oxygen in an open air is a form of luxury now. Once I took my chance and bought a VIP ticket for the hope I might see a pretty girl unmasked and sit next to her. It was waste of money, what I saw were just few old and rich men sitting at VIP cabin.
I love to see the world. It is the real view of my city. I think reality has its own soul. By looking at nature you connect to its soul. My friends might think I’m stupid who prefers the ugly real, polluted world instead of exciting LCDs with the view of mountains covered by snow and rainbows everywhere. They might say it’s because of my stupid philosophies that I’m still alone. I am an old fashion guy who wants to see girls face to face and fall in love by a smile. Maybe I think it’s the destiny that my parents got to know each other like that. I want the same beautiful destiny to happen for me too. Maybe it’s just

The good thing about this route is the train itself. It is old; it has windows to see outside. You can see sunrise from behind Burj Dubai at the morning. It’s tough to see the sun in the city while it is filled with towers. The only time sun can be seen is at the exact noon, when it is up in the sky at its most vertical position. Anyway most of the people here are at their offices by noon time. They got LCD windows to see through and enjoy the dreamy view. They just miss the real sun every day.
10 Thirty years a dream I have to silence. But other people just submit their requests online and out of millions of member someone sends a flirt. This love is so meaningless, so meaningless they don’t remember each other the day after. I don’t believe in such satisfaction. So they go back to the same way of finding fake love and the cycle goes on and on. Maybe they end up somewhere; it’s just not the place I want to end up. The train has reached Burj Dubai metro station. View of Burj Dubai is fantastic from here. You have to raise your head to its almost top and still can’t see top of the tower. Such a magnificent architecture designed by human being 28 years ago. Burj Dubai is still the tallest tower in the world. 20 years ago a tower was going to break the record in Shanghai and in the middle of its construction phase, it completely fallen down. It was horrible. Like the end of supersonic aviation which ended by the crash of concord, it brought end to the tallest race. The problem came from piles of the tower. Other countries and companies in Kuwait and India made few tries too. But they couldn’t dig enough into the ground and the race for having tallest tower stopped at that point of time. To be honest I feel really good that I have a chance to work in the tallest tower ever built on earth. It reminds me of Tower of Babel. :: Every Morning
