About Xander !

Sport means a lot to me as well as my study. No day passing by without sport. I go to the gym, get on my bike, do some exercises at home and during the weekends go out sailing. All to be fit and have a good day on the water. And I want is to combine it with my studies. There is nowhere I can do that better than in the U.S.A.

Interview

! !

What makes you different to other athletes? I'm disciplined, a hard worker, talented, focused, experienced, passionate, social and cooperative. Always trying to get the best out of myself and I’ll never give up. Among my peers, who play soccer, tennis and hockey, sailing makes me different.

!

! ! ! ! !

Why do you want to compete in college? I want to look at my progressions in sailing without giving up my study. The best place where I can combine that is America with college sports.

Life goals? I want to combine high-performance sport with my study. Graduating is very important to me. During or after my study I want to compete in the Red Bull Youth Americas Cup with my own team and later on maybe compete in the Louis Vuitton Americas Cup. But with my study I definitely have the right papers to go into business and having my own international company is a dream for when I’m older.

! ! !

Additional information I’m doing different sports to stay fit and keep motivated. Such as stand up paddling, tennis, cycling or bootcamp. Only going to the gym can be a bit boring.
