It all started with an opportunity in the Automotive industry! Johan Erasmus, founder of A.T.A (Automotive Training Academy) and a qualified Industrial Psychologist used his knowledge, insight and vision to create what we know today as A.T.A. Ever since the opening of our doors on 1 April 2009, the team has carried the vision of “enriching and empowering people through training” and A.T.A has expanded services to all industries. The A.T.A team is self-driven, solution-orientated and has an entrepreneurial flair that promotes positive change within the Training and Human Resource Industry. What has made the difference from the start of the journey is building a solid foundation. The unique skill of both Industrial Psychology and Technical Training ability is rare to find.

The right building blocks has made the 10-year journey possible by establishing the values firstly, deciding this is how we would make the journey worthy, and plough ahead to do business. Our values of encouraging a Solution Driven Mindset, being ethical in decision making by taking Ownership and Accountability, managing difficult situations with Flexibility and Resilience and committing to reach higher with a Passion for Business Performance, whilst striving for performance excellence.
Another firm foundation the business is built on is Faith. If it’s in God’s plan, it works. It is our job to explore and see opportunities. The business started in an economic downturn and any entrepreneur would not have chosen to commit to a start-up and to enter the market based on the environment but A.T.A has thrived with resilience and Faith through challenging times. A.T.A has taken each day as a new opportunity to make an impact and the continued focus is on improving productivity, increasing performance and ultimately developing business teams with the suitable skills for business growth.

The growth of our business is attributed to the people of A.T.A. Selecting a team that is the right fit and most suited to the solutions our clients need, this has made all the difference. Our team has grown from 5 to 50 people in 10 years, and the impact the team has had on the growth of the business is why we keep on reaching greater heights. A team that understands the industry with diversity of experience and knowledge.

RESILIENCE AND STRATEGY.
The management team and decision making has been based on good business principles. We continuously ensure low debt and fair costing to ensure profitability. We place ourselves in the shoes of the customer by understanding costing requirements in the decision-making process. Challenges are real in the industry but to adapt we focus on minimizing risk by eliminating corruption, signing declarations for workplace integrity and keeping our journey an ethical one.
We’ve embarked on a wellness journey for our team and getting our team to “beat their best” is what it is all about. The monthly newsletter encourages team spirit and healthy lifestyles.

The client journey began with only one client for a 2- year period and once we proved ourselves in the industry A.T.A enjoyed more client success. Our solution mindset has taken us both nationally and across into African countries such as Botswana, Cameroon, Namibia, Zimbabwe and Uganda.
It has been a collaboration of partners, who have walked this journey with us and we are proud to be associated with these partners who have made this journey possible. To mention a few: AIDC, SATEC, DTI, University of Pretoria, Tshwane University of Technology, SSI, SAQA and SAQI.
IT’S NOT ALL ABOUT US.
As a business, we have a heart to help, giving back is part of our success and the social development we have been involved in to assist non-profit and start-up’s such as Indibano Auto Body Repair, Refilwe Community Project, Feed a Child Project, Jacaranda Children’s and annually we host a Christmas party for the Pinocchio Kleuterskool. It is moments like this that makes our days more purpose-filled.
