SUR1003 Basic Operating Room Techniques Orientation to surgical techniques with emphasis on basic patient care concepts, asepsis, and the surgical environment, and case preparation and procedures before, during, and after surgical procedures. 3 Credits. SUR1005 Wound Care Promoting successful wound care with emphasis on aseptic technique. Applying actual wound care components which include cleaning, dressing, determining frequency of dressing changes, and reevaluation of wound. Prerequisites: SUR1003 and SUR1001. 5 Credits. SUR1202 Clinical Practicum I Supervised clinical experience. Observation of patient care procedures, beginning skills of sterilization/ disinfection and aseptic techniques. 2 Credits.
