Zhaoming Wu

2020 presented many challenges to us all, and the last thing one may expect is that such a troubling year might have actually acted as an inspiration for one of America’s great artists. Zhaoming Wu, the world-renowned fine artist from San Francisco, saw the lockdowns and quarantines as an opportunity; an impetus to producing a collection of phenomenal paintings. Zhaoming contacted me at the beginning of 2021 and told me about the body of work he had created, and how excited he was for me to see the new collection. I’ve worked with him for 15 years now and have come to expect the utmost quality from him, but I could immediately tell this group of paintings was particularly special. The collection encompasses the classic figurative paintings that he is well known for, as well as landscapes and scenes inspired by his travels and experiences around the world.
