Dear Valued Customers – Returning and Prospective Buyers,
We’re grateful for the opportunity to welcome you back for another year. Each sale reminds us how fortunate we are to work with good cattle and even better people.
With today’s cattle market holding strong, investing in quality genetics is as important as it’s ever been. The bulls in this sale are built to add value to a cow herd for years to come, whether through added performance, maternal strength, or the kind of longevity that keeps a program headed in the right direction. Good bulls pay for themselves, and we’re confident these cattle will prove to be a sound investment in the current marketplace.
This year’s offering is one we’re especially proud of. A strong number of these bulls trace back to MAF Stronghold 2122, a sire we purchased from Mogck Angus Farms, who’s had a real and lasting impact on our herd. He’s become a true foundational bull in our pedigrees, and we believe the consistency you’ll find across these sons reflects that.
We’re continue to be selective in our cutting process at weaning, focusing on quality over quantity, and ensuring we bring you one of our most evenly balanced sets of bulls from start to finish. We offer supplemental genomic data that compares each bull to over a million cattle in the registry. Yellow highlighting thru the catalog indicate EPDs in the top 25% of the breed. We are also presenting bulls that qualify for the Certified Angus Beef (CAB) label. This certification ensures that the bulls meet the high standards required for premium beef production.
Additionally, each bull has undergone a semen check by our trusted partners at Sweetgrass Veterinary and carcass ultrasounded by CUP Lab certified tech, Jeff Schoenfelder.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our past, present, and future buyers. Your trust in our cattle is what continues to drive us to improve our herd so we can help you improve yours. A special thanks goes to Platte Livestock and CattleUSA for their ongoing support and we are also excited about the addition of DVAuction this year to broaden our reach.

Statement from Sweetgrass Veterinary Services:
Sweetgrass Veterinary Services is excited and proud to welcome everyone to the 2026 Assmus Angus bull production sale! Every year we look forward to partnering with this passionate cattle family on their animal health protocols and assisting in the preparation for this annual event. We encourage everyone to come take a look at the bulls and you will find this is one of the best offerings yet and they keep getting better and better every year.
All sale bulls offered have passed a thorough breeding soundness exam which included evaluation of semen motility and morphology, scrotal measurements, and visual examination of eyes, hoof and leg conformation. To reduce stress and times through the chute, yearling bulls were also carcass ultrasounded by CUP Lab certified tech, Jeff Schoenfelder, at the time of the breeding exam.
The bulls have received a complete vaccination protocol from birth to sale day and have received their first pre-breeding vaccination as well as a footrot, pinkeye and anthrax vaccinations. The bulls have been poured for the control of internal and external parasites and blood tested negative for BVD.
In good practice, we do encourage a 3 week quarantine period before contact with your herd to allow them to get over the high risk time after the stress of transportation and to work with your local veterinarian to prepare your bull for breeding by repeating a fertility test prior to pasture turn out. We can be reached by phone at (605) 928-8387 or email at vet@sweetgrassvets.com.
