Hard to believe this is the last issue of Studio 49 for the ASID CANV term 2012-2013. As this board began October 1st 2012 we had many plans in place and a very exciting road map. First and foremost our most favorite goal was to achieve relationships with charities in our communities. The Christmas parties were the beginning of this achievement. Our members helped bring warmth and smiling faces to many families this term. Thank you to those generous members that participated throughout the fiscal year. Our strategic plan road mapped the board to strive to be the core of the design network. We achieved this as well. A particular relationship that we have bridged with is AIA Las Vegas. Stephen Leon, President- Elect and I have participated in roundtables in Las Vegas with not only AIA LV but also leaders from organizations as USGBC, Green Chips, Nevada Conservative League, Urban Land Institute, COLAB, Associated General Contractors, to name a few. The committee plans to meet monthly on an annual basis. In addition another organization that we have joined with is Coverings. Our chapter members have been asked to participate in Covering 2014 Las Vegas. The participation level has yet to be determined but for an example the ASID Georgia chapter designed and installed a venue at the Coverings 2013 (stay tuned). I have exciting news to share. Our winners of Design Excellence have been given the opportunity to have their work displayed at World Market during summer market this year!! The winners’ pictures have been professionally mounted for the display at World Market and once the market is over the winners will be given their boards for display in their personal businesses. Lastly, as you may or may not know we have been without a chapter office for two years. Not anymore! We have been granted a space [back] at World Market starting September! Thank you Marsha at World Market! Thank you for a term as your ASID CANV chapter President that I will never forget. Best wishes to the incoming board and hopefully new faces to volunteer!
