ON Tuesday, Oct. 26, a committee from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recommended the Pfizer vaccine for children aged between 5 and 11 years old, a move that is likely to intensify national discourse and disagreement over whether children
should receive the COVID-19 vaccine. While the vote from the panel — which voted 17 in favor and one abstention — could bring the 28 million children in this age bracket closer to the vaccine, the ultimate decision to enact emergency authorization falls on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). According to Dr. Anthony Fauci, chief medical
DURING this historic COVID pandemic, more people than ever before signed up for health insurance through Covered California, the state agency that administers the Affordable Care Act (a.k.a. Obamacare). With a record 1.6 million consumers now enrolled in brand-name health plans through Covered California, the agency recently announced that the renewal process is now underway for its current members for health coverage in 2022. The good news is that the vast majority of Covered California members will receive financial help, from the new American Rescue Plan, that will dramatically lower their monthly health care costs. This year, Covered California has also seen an uptick in Asian Americans enrolling in health plans, with quality health care being critical during the pandemic. Asian American enrollment in Covered California health plans increased more than 3.7% in 2021 over last year.

Report: Apple threatened Facebook ban over abuse of Filipina domestic workers by AJPRESS A NEW report revealed that Apple once gave Facebook an ultimatum over the abuse of Filipina domestic workers in the Middle East. “Two years ago, Apple threatened to pull Facebook and Instagram from its app store over concerns about the platform being used as a tool to trade and sell maids in the Mideast,” the Associated Press said in an article published Tuesday, October 25. In response to the threat, Facebook admitted

It also recognized the website’s problem with “domestic servitude,” which is a form of human trafficking “for the purpose of working inside private homes through the use of force, fraud, coercion or deception.” Facebook engineers reportedly found nearly three-fourths of posts that showed maids in photos/videos and their biographical In this photo published on Monday, October 25, presidential aspirant and Sen.
