Asian Airlines & Airports Introduction

About

The Asia Airlines & Airports Media Kit for 2011 reflects some of the changes we have been implementing in the course of 2010.

Established in 1993, ASIAN AIRLINES & AIRPORTS has been a valued resource for industry players and professionals not only in the Asia-Pacific, but also the Middle East, India and Central Asia. It is also read by those in the aviation industry outside of Asia with an interest in the region.

Having developed the magazine into a leading publication for the Asian civil aviation industry, in 2010 we have improved our website and launched a newsletter aimed at aviation professionals in the Asian market. The Asia-Pacific region is now the largest passenger aviation market in the world and along with the Middle East and India, which we also cover, one of the fastest growing. Boeing and Airbus both see high single-digit annual growth rates for Asia for the next twenty years, far outstripping the more mature markets. The region also has a thriving regional aviation sector – with home grown regional jets due to arrive in the not so distant future. In 2009 we opened our office in Singapore, fast developing into one of the key aviation hubs within the region and globally. As well as being home to industry leading airports and airlines, it also has a burgeoning aerospace sector and hosts numerous conferences and exhibitions – including of course the Singapore Air Show. We are very much at the centre of all this activity. In short, our position in Singapore means we are uniquely positioned to report on developments in the Asian aviation industry. After the crisis year of 2009, the Asian aviation industry has seen a sustained recovery in 2010, with passenger numbers rising, investment activity returning and a sense of normality being restored. In 2011, we will be extending our coverage of the business jet and helicopter sectors – again both areas which are looking to Asia for growth opportunities. We will also, of course, have our website, newsletter and show daily at some of the region’s key events. Keep supporting us in the way we support you.

It focuses on developments in the aviation and aerospace sectors in the Asia Pacific and wider Asian area, while also highlighting global events and trends of interest to the Asian aviation industry. It includes regular interviews with leading industry figures and reports from the region’s most important industry events. There are dedicated columns on topics including; airlines; airports; aircraft; engines; air navigation; distribution; cabin products; in-flight-entertainment (IFE) and services; training and simulation; avionics; ground handling; cargo; finance; security; aviation technologies; maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO); and business aviation. In addition, there are features on specific developments within and concerning the sector. These include analysis of aeropolitical events, policy and regulatory issues, as well as the implications of developments in products and services. We have a flexible editorial programme that keeps in line with changes in the industry and around the world to ensure that the magazine remains relevant at all times. With a circulation of 6,462 copies (Source: Circulation Statement ended June 2010 as reported in the new BPA application form), Asian Airlines & Airports’ target, audience is comprehensive. It reaches the desk of policy and decision makers and it is also circulated among corporate leaders and captains of industry as well as professionals in fields related to airlines and airports.
