COWORKING SPACE OFFICE BUILDING DESIGN CONCEPT:

‘The only constant in the universe is change, and not only our climate is changing but so is our society. As homosapiens, we have the power to adapt the change. The power to give form to our future.�

OBJECTIVE:

The main motive of this brief is to design for this generation of entrepreneurs and their aspirations. The competition aims to design a small scale collaborative start-up business office for young entrepreneurs in the IT sector.

ABOUT PROJECT:

The course of ARN-401, which has been overseen by the course coordinator Dr. Gaurav Raheja and Professor Rita Ahuja, has stimulated us into thinking about the future of office workspaces and the implications. It will have on the design philosophy of such a space.

CONTROL

Four lanes of road are provided into the site of bus terminal in order to handle the crowd and traffic jam problem in market. Those buses which are not supposed to stop for passenger exchange in Roorkee or the vehicles which are just passing by the Roorkee to other places will still be using the same existig 8 m road. This way I have tried to solve the pollution and traffic problem. This whole patch of land will be a public place full of public art and greenery to respond positively to environmental health.

about: COLLECTORATE BUILT DURING THE TIME INDO- GOTHIC STYLE OF ARCHITECTURE WAS BEING PROPAGATED BY THE BRITISH, THE COLLECTORATE DESIGNED IN THE SAME INCORPORATED TRADITIONAL INDIAN DESIGN ELEMENTS WITH STONE MASONARY WALLS, POINTED ROOF FORM AND TURRETS, THE STRUCTURE RESEMBLES A CASTLE SIMILAR TO THE CASE OF THE OTHER ADMINISTRATIVE BUILDINGS IN NAINITAL.

Nainital Collectorate : The enchanting hill station of Nainital was discovered in 1841 in the then united provinces (now the state of uttarakhand) by the british and became an exclusive colonial resort during their rule gradual increase in footfall set the tone for construction of bunglows. Market areas and administrative units for overseeing the welfare of the new residents of the city. In the convernance of the district of Nainital, the post which looks after the juridiction of the people right from doing groundwork on site to drafting plans for the future development of the district is fulfilled by the collectorate.


3d exploded section THICK STONE WALLS AND ARCHES IMPART A SCENE OF STURDINESS AND STABILITY LIKE A FORTRESS WHICH ACCENTUATES THE BUILDING’S FUNCTION OF THE BEING IMPORTANT ADMINISTRATIVE BUILDING. THE TALL CORRIDORS COMPOSED WITH THE WIDE ARCHES DO NOT REALLY SPEAK MONUMENTALLY BUT REDUCES IT TO A MORE HUMANE LEVEL OF PERCEPTION A WOODEN FALSE CEILING CONCEALS THE STRUCTURE OF THE FLOOR AND THE SERVICE DUCTS OF THE BUILDING, ALSO ABSORBING SOUND SO AS TO CREATE CORRIDORS OF CLEAR CONVERSATIONS

ABOUT : Our design which is an amalgamation of built spaces with interweaving commercial, residential, and leisure spaces draws inspiration f rom the city of Lucknow itself which is quintessential of interwoven identities and culture. We a i m to s t r i ke a b a l a n c e b e t we e n t h e s o c i a l a n d p e r s o n a l lives of people by fusing the spaces together yet m a i n t a i n i n g t h e i r i n d i v i d u a l i t y a n d p r i va c y. We h a ve tried to incorporate the concepts of sustainability and e n e r g y e f fi c i e n c y d e e p i n t o t h e c o r e o f t h e d e s i g n a n d n o t just use ostensible measures. As a whole, the design strives for total harmony, harmony amongst the built spaces and harmony between the built spaces and nature.
