Junior Youth Voice Flag Design Winner Announced The final 6 entries were: Oliver Lawman, Age 8 The Weald C of E Primary School Esme Arundell, Age 6 St Martin's C of E Primary School Lily Sky Butterworth, Age 6 St Joseph's Catholic Primary School Heidi de la Hoyde, Age 10 St Paul’s C of E Primary School

On Wednesday 29 February Junior Youth Voice selected and announced the winning design for their exciting Olympic Torch Relay flag competition. 10-year-old Heidi de la Hoyde’s colourful design (pictured above) will feature on 6,000 hand-held flags, which will be given to local primary schools for children to wave whilst watching the Olympic Torch being carried through Dorking and Westcott on 20 July 2012.

There were 542 entries in total from primary schools across the District. 6 finalists were shortlisted and the Youth Councillors voted Heidi’s as the winning design during the Junior Youth Voice evening meeting. Heidi goes to St Paul’s C of E Primary School in Dorking. It is an exciting time for Junior Youth Voice with the Olympic Road Cycle Race coming to Mole Valley on 28 and 29 July and the Torch Relay passing through Dorking and Westcott on 20 July. The young Councillors, aged between nine and eleven, have been inspired by the 2012 Olympics and have also pledged to act as ambassadors for the London 2012 Games within their respective schools.
