About Me. Growing up in Louisiana, I was surrounded by historical architecture from all different periods in time—Spanish Colonial New Orleans, Acadian Plantation Homes, and historical “Charpentier” homes just to name a few. I am fortunate enough to have traveled growing up, and was always attracted to the role architecture played in creating a sense of ‘place’ wherever we went. I decided to study architecture as a way to combine my interests in math and art with my family-instilled passion for traveling and history. I moved to Baton Rouge to attend LSU and worked as an architectural intern during my time as a student from my third year on. The summer before my final year, I attended the College of Art & Design Rome Program and spent the summer studying architecture in and around Rome, Italy. Upon arriving home, I spent the fall working for a local architecture firm before returning to LSU to graduate in the spring of 2014 with a Bachelor of Architecture and minor in Architectural History. After continuing to work for a year after graduation, I moved to New York to broaden my architectural experience. For nearly the past three years I’ve managed projects at a high end residential architecture firm renovating apartments and townhouses throughout the city.

This project involved the gut renovation of a 7th Floor, corner-unit, 2100 SF apartment. The floor plan layout was re-configured to

New sub-flooring, finish flooring and interior finishes were installed throughout, as well as new Kitchen/Dryer exhausts and PTAC mechanical units beneath existing windows. The latter involved coordination with the Landmarks Preservation Commission for approval of exterior penetrations along 85th street and prominent West End Avenue. New electrical and plumbing fixtures were installed throughout including a Lutron Casseta lighting system, extensive AV

networking, and an electric heated floor at the Master Bath. Platt Dana Architects specified all new finishes iand designed new custom millwork including enclosures at all PTAC units, Kids’/Master Bath Vanites, Master Closet cabinetry, Kitchen cabinetry, Living Room bookcases, and Powder Room paneling.

I took over Construction Administration on the project as the rough framing was being completed. My tasks involved visiting the site weekly to review progress and provide additional drawings for clarification as needed in addition to general coordination items between the contractor and client. I also handled the review of all fixture, equipment, and finish submittals; millwork shop drawings; and change orders/ payment applications from the contractor.

This project at West 77th Street involved the installation of a new central air conditioning system throughout the 2500 SF penthouse apartment. Minimizing the dropped ceilings as necessary was a key priority. The Kitchen was completely renovated and updated with new cabinetry, appliances, and range/dryer exhaust; the Maids’ Room and Bathroom were refinished as well. New millwork was installed in the Dining Room and upstairs Family Room to conceal new floor standing AHU’s. I worked on the project from start to finish, coordinating all necessary Building and DOB approvals and preparing all drawings for construction. Throughout construction I visited the site weekly, preparing meeting minutes and reviewing all shop drawings and submittals.

The Cellar was excavated a few additional feet to provide height for a new in-home Gym and Wine Cellar. The Garden Level consists of a Guest Bedroom/Bathroom, multiple Storage spaces, and a Family Room opening out onto the rear garden through floor-to-ceiling Optimum steel windows and doors. The Parlor Level offers formal Living and Dining Rooms off of a Kitchen with cabinetry by Bulthaup and 9’ tall steel windows and doors in line with those below. A new steel deck and stair off the Kitchen leads down to the rear yard below where a new Detention tank, required by DEP for the extension, will be disguised with landscaping. A new expansive 5’ x

10’ skylight crowns top of the stairs, while two smaller skylights provide natural light for the Master Bath and Closet. The house features radiant heating via a Warmboard sub-floor throughout with a new central air conditioning system for cooling. New electrical systems have also been installed including a Lutron RadioRA 2 lighting system. PDA designed custom cabinetry to be installed throughout including Bathroom vanities, Storage room shelving, Wine Cellar shelving, Master Closet cabinetry, and floorto-ceiling white oak cabinetry at the Study and Family Room. Custom Statuario marble fireplace mantels will be featured in the Living Room and Master Bedroom.

I took over Construction Administration on the project as the construction contract was being finalized. Since the start of work, my tasks have included visiting the site weekly to review progress, preparing detailed weekly meeting minutes for reference, providing additional and updated drawings for clarification, coordination with DOB and DEP for necessary approvals, review and coordination of mechanical ductwork & grilles, review of millwork shop drawings, review of lighting and plumbing fixture submittals, as well as review off all Payment Applications and Change Orders from the contractor.

Currently under construction, this project involves the gut renovation of a 4000 SF Tribecca loft that was originally three separate apartments. Previous renovations had been minimal to connect the apartments, leaving an awkward layout that didn’t maximize the space’s potential, along with severely un-level floor and ceiling slabs. I worked closely with principal, Hope Dana, and the client throughout schematic design to develop a new layout to suit the clients’ lifestyle and family needs.

The new apartment configuration features direct circulation off of a formal Entry Foyer to either the Living spaces, Kitchen service area, or private bedroom wing. The Kitchen has been repositioned to the center of the apartment with a larger layout to suit the scale of the apartment. Open to the Living and Dining Room, the Kitchen also offers direct access to a walk-in Pantry, additional informal Entry and Mudroom, as well as a Utility area featuring a full bathroom and expanded Laundry Room. The Study, Living Room, and Playroom have been partitioned to make better use of the expansive space along the West wall with Hudson River views. The enlarged ‘private’ wing of the apartment features an additional bedroom and full bathroom with an expansive Master Closet, one of the clients’ main requests. After demolition, self-leveling concrete was poured throughout the apartment, with some locations A-201.00 requiring nearly 4” to even out the floors. New Scale as Noted

plumbing fixtures and finishes will be installed throughout in addition to electrical services, mechanical & sprinkler systems, and new recessed motorized shades with Lutron’s RadioRA 2 lighting system. The project also involves extensive custom millwork throughout with full-height paneling planned for the Living/Dining Room, Study and Master Closet. My tasks for this project have involved schematic design, design development, construction documents, coordination with the building’s reviewing architect for approval, and DOB submission. Since the start of construction, my responsibilities have been comprised of visiting the site weekly to review progress/ provide clarifications, preparing detailed weekly meeting minutes for reference, reviewing all shop drawings and submittals as well as all payment applications and change orders from the contractor.

This project at 1 Pierrepont St involved the gut renovation of an 8th Floor end-unit apartment with multiple exposures, one of which overlooking the lower Manhattan skyline. The

3000 SF floor plan layout was re-configured to suit the clients’ lifestyle, with an open Kitchen/ Family Room separate from formal Living and Dining Rooms.

New finish flooring and interior finishes were installed throughout, as well as new Kitchen/ Dryer exhausts, central air conditioning, and new windows. New plumbing and electrical fixtures were also installed including a Lutron RadioRA 2 lighting system. PDA designed all new custom millwork including nearly twenty pieces throughout - radiator covers, bathroom vanities, master closet cabinetry, bar and tv cabinetry with cabinetry by Bulthaup installed at the Kitchen. I took over Construction Administration on the project as the rough framing was being completed. My tasks involved visiting the site weekly to review progress and provide additional drawings for clarification as needed. I also handled the review of all fixture, equipment, and finish submittals as well as millwork and mechanical shop drawings.

RMA worked together with a developer to design an office park on prominent Jefferson Highway. I assisted with the development of the design for the office building prototype

to be repeated and modified throughout the site. Using Revit for modeling, we were able to explore and present to the client multiple design renditions. I also worked

with the project manager to put together the construction set for submittals to the Permit Office and Fire Marshal.

RMA was hired to design a new stand-alone office for a plastic surgeon in Baton Rouge, LA. I assisted Scott Ritter with schematic development for the project, using Revit to model and render multiple design schemes for client presentations. These particular views aimed to present the initial schematic design to the client, while maintaining an abstract aesthetic so as not to appear a finished building.

policy to improve safety conditions, and reestablishing a connection with the street and the public realm. The design also focuses on bringing the community in and through the new built program, mitigating the existing restrictiveness of the site.

DESIGN EXECUTION. Public space is integrated throughout the site in the form of a raised pedestrian bridge linking the gallery to the library. Exposing the outdoor workspace of the building shop beneath allows the public to see and be inspired

while maintaining their separation for functional and protective purposes. The live/work lofts are raised off the street with semi-transparent cladding to serve as an elevated “light box,� lighting up the once crime-ridden street corner.

SITE. The Termi di Caracalla (Baths of Caracalla) are evocatively situated within one of the world’s most historic and well preserved cities, Rome. They are majestic in both their current ruin and in their past glory. The Termi are one of the grandest and best preserved bathhouse complexes of the ancient world. The ruins are incredibly tall and their height enables visitors to truly comprehend the scale

of the complex and to experience the grandiose spatial conditions. Besides being representative of monumental and unique architectural space, the Termi and their site exhibit incredible feats of engineering, landscape architecture, infrastructure, and thermal systems management. Part of the palimpsest of Rome, the whole site has had many occupancies since the original program was abandoned in 537 ACE.

When the Goths seized the city and cut off the water sources, Romans clustered in the Centro. The Termi were too far away, unsafe, and there was no water. For the next 1500 years, the site served as a cemetery, seminary, playground, Opera House, and most recently a tourist site and summer Opera facility. This project had intentions of transforming its occupancy once again.

DESIGN PROBLEM. Respecting the natural beauty of the site along with the historic integrity of the baths, this design project challenged the occupation of a mere tourist site to create a site to be visited both episodically (as a once in a lifetime tour) and daily (as a religious practice.)

DESIGN INTENT. There is [new] and there is [old]. They are separate, but equal. The mosque is visible to the tourist but is not their focus and the ruins are visible to the Muslims but they are not their focus. The new operates on its own axis (aligned with Mecca) and level leading

to a state of occupational duality and equanimity throughout the site. The ruins and the mosque inhabit the same site, yet they generate entirely different sets of experiences.

MINARET. The high point, from which the summons to prayer is executed, serves as both a visual and audible cue for the faithful. SEHAN. >40,000 s.f. The courtyard space offers a tranquil framed space before one enters the interior including shade, seating, space for gathering, and vegetation. WUDU. The ceremonious cleansing space prepares Muslims for entry into the Musalla. MUSALLA. >40,000 s.f. The prayer hall serves both locals and visitors to the eternal city.

PROGRAMMATIC PARTI. The primary programmatic elements of the mosque have been broken down into two interlocking “L’s.” The MINARET and the SEHAN progression inform the first “L” sequence, while the WUDU and the MUSALLA inform the second.

STRUCTURE & MATERIALITY. Foundation piles distribute the building load to prevent further damage to unknown archaeological conditions below. The roof structure,

supported by a reinforced column-truss system, is clad in white stucco and features an in-fill of mullion-less glazing screened by perforated wood panels.

ST. STEFANO ROTONDO | Section Axon and Interpretive Site Sections


SITE. St. Stefano Rotondo is an ancient basilica in Rome, Italy. The walls of the church are decorated with numerous frescoes portraying thirty-four scenes of martyrdom.

PRODUCT. On LSU’s College of Art and Design Rome Program, the advanced drawing class challenged my artistic as well as analytical abilities. This graphite and colored pencil drawing captures the interior

spatial conditions of the church and provides an analysis of half of the frescoes. The site sections are interpretive to show the depth of the scenes as well as their topography, natural features, and populations.

SITE. Charlestown, the oldest area in Boston, was laid out in 1629 before Boston was settled. The area is historically known for its shipping industry and features a historic navy yard in close proximity to


the project’s site. The extension of the Harborwalk around the edge of the site presents the opportunity to bridge two historical, maritime areas of Charlestown with a new, vibrant community.

DESIGN INTENT. The site acts as a peninsula jutting out into the Boston Harbor. It offers three distinctive views (the Mystic River Bridge, Charlestown’s Historic Navy Yard, and Downtown Boston’s Waterfront).

The design is oriented around framing and taking advantage of these three key views, with all apartments having access to at least one major view. Bottom. Panoramic View from Harbor

UNIT FEATURES. All apartments are split level and offer views out into the Boston Harbor. Operable glazing on both ends allow for cross ventilation through the units. Each Apartment has the same common area (kitchen and living) plan, with bedrooms added off the common room as needed. PUBLIC USE. The ground floor provides public split level gallery spaces bridging the exterior courtyards with an interior plaza. The site also connects two existing portions of the Harborwalk together, along which visitors can stroll and take advantage of the many views of the Harbor, learning about Boston along the way. The added gallery space compliments the existing cultural and educational purpose of the Harborwalk. STRUCTURE AND MATERIALITY. The building is supported by a steel skeleton and clad in white aluminum panels with operable wood screens over the glazing to mimic the materiality of ships in the harbor.
