The Ashland United Methodist Church is privileged to announce the receivers of the Leahy benefits. This is our 18th year of being able to assist the youth of the Ashland Community. This year two scholarships were awarded. Katherine Beauchamp, the daughter of Terry and Rhonda Beauchamp and Emily Thornley, the daughter of Howard Thornley each received scholarships. Katherine will continue her college career at the O‘Moore College of Design in Franklin, Tennessee and Emily will be entering Western Illinois University. Both of these girls have excellent work ethics and goals for the future. They should make great additions to any community. We also were able to help the 2nd Saturday program fund their ministry to the youth of the Ashland community. The program is open to any religious background and lays a better foundation for their Christian education. In addition to these other gifts we are please to be able to offer support to Phoebe Betters who plans to take additional courses to better prepare her for college. This is another way we can uphold the desires of Mildred Leahy in promoting education. We ask God‘s Blessing on all the recipients of the Leahy awards. This is what Mrs. Leahy chose to do, help the youth of our community.

Article submitted by Village of Ashland-from Department of Professional Reg.

The Department asks that your building officials who issue roofing permits access our website (www.idfpr.com) to confirm licensure after identifying the permit applicant by obtaining a copy of a legitimate picture ID. Roofing contractors who are properly licensed are required to be insured in order to do business in Illinois. Furthermore, roofing contractors need to have the name of their company properly identified on their trucks. Any advertisement or contract with their letterhead must list their roofing license number. You should also know that construction contractors should not be doing roofing work unless they also have a roofing contractor license.
