Allen’s Market Did You Know?

Allen’s Market Has Everything You Need! Groceries, Health Care Products, Hot Deli, Homemade Deli Items, Hand Cut Meats, Cold Beer And Ice! Save On Gas And Shop Here. We Always Appreciate Your Business! JUNCTION OF 123 & 125, ASHLAND A GREAT IDEA – AND YOU CAN HELP GET IT STARTED!!! Many of know friends and relatives who have moved out of Ashland to be closer to doctors, relatives, shopping, etc. With the rising cost of fuel, we will see this happening even more. It is not just disabled or older folks, but all of us who are affected. Cass County leaders are aware of grants which are available from the state and federal governments to create a transportation system. Again, this would be usable by everyone -from young people with no vehicle who need to go shopping or to appointments, to elderly who no longer drive. Around the middle of July, you will see questionnaires about this issue. PLEASE take time to fill one out, and if you have elderly, disabled, or otherwise needy family or friends, be sure to help them with the form. It is not long and is not to be signed. Think of yourself and your family 5 or 10 years down the road and what your needs might be, also. It would be a wonderful thing for all of us, and help save our struggling small towns. The next meeting of the county transportation group will be Thursday July 24th at 6:30pm at the Chandlerville Sr. Center.

Share your talents with us all!! ―HOOSIER HIGHWAY‖ IS SATURDAY EVENING ENTERTAINMENT AT ASHLAND SUMMER DAYS! Multi-talented Mike Webb, of the now disbanded City Limits Band, who opened for the Belamy Brothers last year at Ashland’s Sesquicentennial, has joined ―Hoosier Highway.‖ They promise to bring us an evening of great country music with fine vocals, tight harmony, and hard-hitting instrumentals. Mike Webb sings, plays guitar and steel guitar, and fiddles with ―Hoosier Highway‖ who is a leading sponsor of ―Friends and Fans for St. Jude‖ - supporting St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Be sure you’re there - between the stage and the beer tent on Saturday evening, to witness this fine group.
