It does not seem possible that the first publication of the Village Hall “What’s On” was 20 years ago. This was an idea by the Chairman of the Village Hall at that time — Mark Davey, with help from his daughter Nicky. It just informed households of Village Hall Activities in Ashcott. Todays publication, does not only advertise Village Hall Activities but other Village Organisations advertise their activities. Advertisements generate an income which help to defray the cost of printing together with a donation from the Parish Council. Peter Rendle is the co-ordinator, making sure, each month, that everything is ready for Trish Shorland to design and layout the publication before going to print. On return Peter puts together all 490 copies which Michael Ellington then delivers to the 15 distributors. What's On can now be downloaded and read on the website at:

www.ashcott.net/whatson We are so very grateful to all these people, who are volunteers & thank them for their hard work. We wish them and all our readers

All Saints Church News Dear Friends, My message is very simple this Christmas. It is to wish you a very happy, healthy and peaceful Christmas. Below you will find a thank you from Revd Susie Parsons and her family. They are slowly but surely recuperating after their car accident in September. I would add my thanks to all of our church communities in the Polden Wheel who have provided support practically, prayerfully and with great thought and consideration. The wider community has also done the same and although Susie and Brian have been amongst us for only a short time their warmth and down to earth ministry has given them a place in the hearts of local people. Unfortunately they are not the only ones to suffer major health problems and many of you have also had to bear sudden loss of both human family members and pets, or a major debilitating illness in you family This year has seemed to be full of quite significant challenges; more so than for many years. The problems we have faced seem to be huge but Christians believe that God; Father, Son and Holy Spirit is alive in this year of trial. Christ is with us and at Christmas we see the gift of the child who will grow into the man who changed the world; whether we appreciate it or not. I ask only one thing, open your hearts and minds to the possibilities of the Christian faith and God will do the rest! ..... “Oh yes he will Merry Christmas to you and all those you love and pray for,

Trish

THANK YOU FROM THE PARSONS FAMILY We cannot begin to express our overwhelming sense of gratitude to each and every one of you. For all who sent cards, letters, and gifts or helped us in any way. Thank you to the Polden Wheel Churches for the beautiful Prayer blanket and cushion, they are amazing and we feel your love and prayers. For all who offered prayers, our very humble thanks. We cannot wait to see you all as we continue to heal in body, mind and spirit. Every Blessing to you all this Christmas Tide

With our love Rev Susie, Brian, Hannah, Richard and (Nelson who doing fine too)
