Community Noticeboard ROAD CLOSURE PROPOSALS

Make sure your wheelie bin logo is facing out to the road - not facing your house, and ensure the bins are in a clear space away from behind parked cars, trailers or poles.

Ashburton District Council gives public notice of the following proposal to temporarily close roads to ordinary vehicular traffic. Waste Landfill

Roads to be closed: Barkers Road - Methven, from Mackie Street to the start of the pedestrian paved area

You should leave at least 50 centimetres between each bin. This makes it easier for the collectors to pick them up.

Audit & Risk Subcommittee Wednesday 19 June, 1.30am 50

Overfilling your wheelie bins can cause them to spill when they are picked up. Ensure only the correct items are placed in each bin and the lid is flat.

RUBBISH & RECYCLING Resource Recovery Parks: The Ashburton and Rakaia Resource Recovery Parks will be closed on Monday 3 June, 2019.

Do not put hot ashes in your wheelie bins. These can melt the bin and cause a fire, which could spread. Let ashes cool for at least five days before bagging them and putting them in your red wheelie bin.

NEED ANOTHER BIN? The Ashburton District Council has additional rubbish and recycling wheelie bins available to help meet the needs of larger households and businesses. These are charged to the user, rather than through rates and do not replace the wheelie bins and crates already provided through rates, but are an extra service. Each bin is charged according to its size. To view the sizes and prices or to request a bin, visit
