About Us The Alabama School of Cyber Technology and Engineering (ASCTE) is the nation’s only high school focused on the integration of cyber technology and engineering into all academic disciplines. ASCTE is a public, residential magnet high school serving students throughout the state of Alabama. Tuition and housing are free.
To ensure all students achieve high levels of learning to be successful in implementing cyber protections into the engineering lifecycle.
Admissions Admission to ASCTE is application based with a competitive acceptance process. Prospective students are reviewed holistically by an admissions committee. Applications are due by February 3rd, 2023. Rising 9th and 10th Graders across the State of Alabama are eligible to apply.
ASCTE Foundation The ASCTE Foundation supports the school in a myriad of ways from fundraising to partnership development. As a State school, ASCTE does not receive local tax dollars. ASCTE receives a line item in the state budget that allows for school operation. The Foundation bridges the gap in funding by recruiting industry partners that invest in both the construction of our permanent campus and internship opportunities for ASCTE students.

Grading Metrics Students' grades and Grade Point Average (GPA) reflect what students learn. Each course is made up of research-based Essential Learning Targets (ELTs), and students are evaluated on each ELT using these grading categories. Course GPAs are calculated as the mean of grade points associated with each ELT. Cumulative GPA will be calculated as the mean of all course GPAs.
