  Thank you to all who attended  Parent/Teacher Conferences.  If you  were unable to make it, please call the  school and make an appointment to  meet with your child’s teacher.  

The time is rapidly approaching— TEST TIME!!!  Please reinforce the  strategies your child is learning in  school! Did you know April is Poetry  Month? Tell your child your favorite  poem or poet!

Themes of the Month Literacy The third grade students will begin reading and writing poems for Poetry Month.

Science We will finish our unit on Energy and beginning our unit on Force and Motion.

Math The third grade will focus on fractions as well as prepare for our state math exam in May. Keep studying those times tables!

Social Studies We will start looking at culture and changes over time.

What’s Happening in Our Classes??? Class 3-327 Class3-327is excited for Poetry Month. We will be using our “Poet’s Eye” to write different types of poems. Letter writing will still continue, so be on the lookout for a new letter.

Class 3-328 Students will continue to study with multiplication and fraction concepts. Also, we are reviewing different types of graphs (bar, pictographs). In ELA, we are using different types of graphic organizers to compare and contrast and help us plan for our writing pieces.

Classroom Reminders Remember our school is a uniform school and all students must wear white shirts/blousesand blue pants and skirts.

Parents -pleasemake sure your child is doing their homework every night. It is extremely important. Check their folders for notices and important information!

PLEASE make sure all homework is signed daily! **CHILDRENMUST BRINGIN AN ABSENTNOTETHE DAY THEY COMEBACKFROMBEINGABSENT** ~For Music, make sure your child is practicing his/her recorder every night for ten minutes!

Class 3-329 Class3-329is all revved up for Poetry Month! We will be “Opening the Doors to Poetry” and using our “Poet’s Eye” to write different types of poems. We are also continuing to write letters to different people in our lives.

Class 3-330 Class3-330has started working on our poetry journals. We have been discussing how a poem can mean different things to different people.

**Pleaseremember that uniform MUST be worn on ALL school field trips!!**
