hri Arvind Limbavali took oath as health minister in newly elected Chief Minister Shri Jagadish Shettar‘s cabinet. He has gained appreciation of Chief Minister by taking appropriate administrative steps in a very short period. Through his uncompromising nature and style of work he has resolved the issues which were hardened to solve. This section provides his early initiatives as health minister.

Success follows the leader even as Health Minister

Important initiatives When Shri Arvind Limbavali assumed office as health minister, Doctors strike was to welcome him with red carpet. Pay scale increment, rolling back the district hospitals from medical education department to the health department again, as they were part of the latter earlier, were the demands put forth to minister. Arvind Limbavali succeeded in convincing Chief Minister for pay hike, which was long due in the department. To address the other issue of taking the position of district hospitals- cabinet decided to form a sub-committee headed by Hon’ble Deputy CM Shri R. Ashok. Health and Medical education ministers are members of the committee.

A committee to address the issues of Ayush doctors It was testing time for Arvind Limbavali as health minister! Ayush doctors declared strike while assembly was busy in business. Arvind Limbavali immediately formed a committee, headed by additional chief secretary to review the three important demands of the doctors.

Measures to control Dengue Dengue was widespread when Limbavali took over as health minister. With the help of officials, he was able to take appropriate measures and control epidemic. His war foot actions is appreciated across the society.

District visits and start of new hospitals Arvind Limbavali visited Chitradurga, Udupi, South Canara, Ramanagar and Hassan districts and conducted Health and Family welfare officials’ meetings.
