Revolution in the field of Education: A novel experiment
rvind Limbavali is a young leader who evolved fighting against rickety Education system in the state. One can see the efforts he undertook for the education revolution after he became the MLA of Mahadevapura. Two new Government First colleges have been started in Varturu and Kadugodi. People think that SJP is the only Government polytechnic in Bangalore. However Government polytechnics have been established in the Channasandra in Kadugodi ward and immadihalli in Hagaduru ward. The construction of the building is in progress, which provides hostel facility too. Even at the time when it was nearly impossible to start a high school in Karnataka, Limbavali fought for the high school and now Doddabanahalli has it. 20 gunta land is reserved for Urdu school in Marath Halli. English medium has been started in the Government high schools of Doddanekkundi, Kadugodi, Jyotipura and Kannamangala . Many of the school properties had been encroached in the constituency. Now all the data has been collected and unauthorized encroachment has been vacated. Mahadevapura now has SC/ST hostels too. Mahadevapura has many state-of-art international schools at one end; schools which lack even the basic facilities at the other end. When Limbavali
learnt that a few primary schools lacked teachers for a couple of subjects, he immediately formed an Education task force headed by Shri Harish, chairman, Vaagdevi schools which is another inspiring story. This task force made use of the public fund and consisted of young and passionate people who volunteered to teach. Arvind Limbavali has poured in all his experience gained as a student leader to enhance the quality of the education system in the constituency. A wide area of more than 27 acres has been identified in Gunjuru Palya for an international sports stadium in Mahadevapura. Plans have also been on anvil to build an international training centre for the local sportsmen. Arvind Limbavali aspires that sports should also be a part of studies and good hostels need to be built for students. It is but natural for Arvind Limbavali who evolved from the blaze of student movements to envisage and execute in this style.
Azim Premji Foundation has joined hands with Arvind Limbavali’s cause of education by taking up various activities in many Government and private schools of Kodati village panchayat. The foundation has served in various dimensions like training to teachers in English, Kannada and mathematics subjects, capacity building for heads of educational institutions, health surveys, basic infrastructure etc. A comprehensive action plan is being implemented in these schools.
