Arts House is excited to present a new initiative, the National Indigenous Choreographers Residency, as part of Dance Massive 2015; which focuses on contemporary cultural dance practice, exchange and engagement.
Presented by Arts House and Taipei Arts Festival.
Working with local Indigenous choreographers Mariaa Randall and Jacob Boehme as lead artists, Arts House has sought, through an Expression of Interest process, contemporary choreographers from around Australia, to work with some of Australia’s leading performance makers and, importantly, each other in an immersive environment; to explore and exchange choreographic language, technique, skills and inspirations. During Dance Massive, participants will be guided through a bespoke program of events including an international market session, opening nights, studio showings, artists breakfasts, networking opportunities and pitch sessions with the international and national delegations.

Arts House, North Melbourne Town Hall International Residency 23 February – 15 March
A cultural and practice exchange between artists, audiences and their cities. For Dance Massive 2015, three artists from Taiwan will join three Melbourne artists to explore our city, one another’s practice, and new directions for solo performance. Public talks, dinners and showings will occupy the final week of the residency, with an open studio program from March 12 to 14. In August 2015 the Melbourne artists travel to Taipei and continue the exchange with a performance season as part of the 2015 Taipei Arts Festival.
