Showcase Ireland 2005
Again this year, at the Royal Dublin Society, the appointment with the historical fair dedicated to Irish crafts. In Dublin, again this year according to tradition, from the 23rd to the 26th of January, the evocative setting of the Royal Dublin Society will be hosting “Showcase Ireland”. It is the 29th appointment of an event that can be considered the most representative and important exhibition of Irish crafts, with over 650 exhibitors coming from all over the island. The rich assortment of products that the public will be able to examine close up as they visit the different sections of the show, is as always of high quality. The fair sectors are organized into thematic areas and they offer a splendid array of Irish handicrafts that range from gifts to clothing, from accessories for the home and the table to jewelry, including typical Celtic products. Organized by the Crafts Council o f Ireland, and promoted at an international level by Enterprise Ireland, the Irish Agency for Commerce and Technology, Showcase is the most suitable event to monitor new tendencies; it is also the finest platform for the launch of innovative products and the chance for up-coming designers and small businesses to make themselves known to the international public. One of the most interesting and appreciated features of this fair is, in fact, the presence of young talents, whose creativity inspires a market that is already very lively. Among the new features present at this year’s edition, we want to point out the opening of the Source section, which will provide space for exhibitors selected by an international jury. Made up of a representative group of buyers and exponents of the information world, the jury has selected the participants based on the high level expressed in design and workmanship, adaptability to the market and especially the high quality of the products they are displaying.
