Art in Bloom Gallery is in a renovated 19th century horse stable in historic downtown Wilmington, North Carolina. The gallery presents an eclectic mix of original art by renowned artists Elizabeth Darrow (oil and collage on canvas); Traudi Thornton (raku and stoneware ceramics); JF Jones (hand-crafted mobiles); Dumay Gorham III (sculpture), Michael Van Hout (sculpture), Janette K. Hopper (painting and various media) and others creating extraordinary art.

Incorporating 5,000 square feet over two floors of a renovation in historic downtown, Expo 216 features thought-provoking art and fashions. Its one-year expositions are theme-driven with the inaugural theme, Ocean Plastic, running through July 2017. Visitors may experience CSI: Albatross (interactive crime solving), Fashion in Plastic (nine stunning fashion creations by local designers), The Plastic Age (an insightful history of plastic), What Goes Around, Comes Around (Kanagawa Waves by Bonnie Monteleone), and more. Currently, Expo 216’s featured artists include, Ruth Ava Lyons, Cordelia Norris, Margarita Cimadevila and Wolfgang Trettnak. In August, Expo 216 will be transitioning to its second theme Death and Dying.

Art in Bloom Gallery partners with local non-profit organizations including DREAMS of Wilmington (Developing Youth through Art Education), the Arts Council of Wilmington and New Hanover County, Expo 216 (gallery and museum), Cucalorus (annual festival of independent film), the Cameron Art Museum, and other organizations contributing to our thriving arts and business community.
