In the early 1990’s he worked on over two hundred TV commercials for Coca-Cola, Budweiser, Chrysler and the like. In 1993 Gregory, with producing partner Troy Westergaard, developed and produced 40 half-hour TV shows for ESPN featuring extreme action sports. Gregory wrote scripts, produced location shoots, cast talent, and supervised offline, on-line editing, and sound/music editing sessions… Gregory later worked for the special effects cinematography company Image G, Inc. where he was a Visual Effects Producer. He worked on complex VFX and action sequences, with Director Brian DePalma on “Mission to Mars” and Director Frank Darabont on “The Green Mile,” and Director John Woo on “Mission Impossible 2.” Also, he worked on episodes of The ‘X’ Files, with producer and director Kim Manners, dozens of TV commercials and music videos for the likes of “Rage Against the Machine” and “Lauryn Hill.” Continuing his career, Gregory worked his way up in the Art Department. He once again worked on big-budget TV commercials as a Production Designer for clients Toyota, Nikon and Castrol Motor Oil, and others. He had the opportunity to Production Design promos for The Discovery Channel, The Comedy Channel, Showtime, The Disney Channel, and music videos for Neil Diamond, Mya, Mystikal, Snoop Dogg, and many others. He recently Art Directed the mobster satire feature film, “The Sinatra Club.” He also was the Set Designer for Star 98.7’s “Not So Silent Christmas” concert at the Wiltern Theater, which featured Bon Jovi, along with 7 other bands… Production Design by Gregory Simms, the set illustration and the set photo

Along the way, Gregory was the Controller of the medium-sized, bi-coastal TV commercial production company Downtown Reel Productions, Inc. He oversaw the finances and logistics of the company which specialized in producing commercials with big-name talent such as Angelina Jolie, Meg Ryan, Tommy Lee Jones and many others… Presently, Gregory is working with his producing partners developing a dramatic series, to be aired on the AMC network, and is also producing a feature length documentary film titled, ‘Girl Number 8.” Gregory was the Production Designer on a recent project called “The King of the Vampires.” He created a swamp, indoors on a sound stage, complete with a pool (more like a pond) of crimson-red blood.
