Cabaret, Blues & Jazz by Nuria Fortuny

Cabaret, Blues & Jazz Dum-da-da-dum-dum. Sax, bass, percussion and piano at rapid pace, places filled with heat, smoke and musicians who share the freedom and the magical rhythms of swing and Jazz. Núria Fortuny takes us through her collection "Cabaret, Blues & Jazz Club" to the pubs and clubs with jam-sessions and improvisations where kings like Django Reinhardt and Miles Davis were born. Looking at any of the works in this collection is like listening to "Rebirth Brass Band" on stage of the "The Howlin’ Wolf" of New Orleans. HOMAGE TO DRTIKOL, 100 x 100, acrylic on canvas, 2009

Núria Fortuny is unable to seperate the music from her paintings. A jazzy trumpet or guitar always accompanies her during her work. "Synesthesia" is a rare phenomenon in which some people get their senses confused. Do not be surprised when watching one of Nuria’s paintings, your feet begin to move to the rhythm of the music and your ears start to hear the dark sounds of Blues and Jazz, as for Núria Fortuny’s tribute to black music has so much rhythm. Dum-da-da-dumdum.
