WILD ABOUT ANIMALS

Friday: Jungle Journey - Be immersed in a towering canopy of trees and the incredible animals that inhabit rainforests around the world. Build layer upon layer to make your own artsy habitats. Shape is the magic word of the day for Dancers’ Workshop explorations in movement.

JULY 24 - 28 MONDAY - FRIDAY 9am - 3pm Multi-Purpose Studio Monday: Take to the Skies - Repurpose materials and colorful craft items to build your own birdhouse and beautiful birds.

A Collaboration with Whitney Wright and Dancers’ Workshop on 7/26 - 7/28 Full week: $235 ($282 non-members) $50/day ($60/day non-members)

Tuesday: A Land of Ice and Snow - Chill out on the North or South Pole when you explore the unique life found there from incredible igloos to cool penguins and polar bears! Wednesday: Desert Wanderings - Covering of our planet’s surface and all seven continents, deserts are fascinating and the life within is extremely diverse. Tell your story as an animal surviving in such a unique environment. Discover movement with Dancers’ Workshop focused on line and pathways. Thursday: Under The Sea - Pass over brilliant coral reefs, down to the bottom of the deepest oceans and back to your tropical island to make art inspired by this fantastic journey. Explore positive and negative space with Dancers’ Workshop.

JULY 25 - 27 TUESDAY - THURSDAY 9:30am - 2:30pm Drop Off and Pick Up on Location Tuesday - R Park Trailhead, 4270 River Springs Drive-Wilson Wednesday - South Park Feedground, hay shed at end of road Thursday - National Museum of Wildlife Art front door Houda joins our staff for painting with watercolor and drawing in pastel, charcoal, and colored pencil in the field! Our teachers will discuss and demonstrate the elements of light, shadow, line, and color as they appear in the landscape. In addition to painting and drawing, students will engage in creating land art using natural found materials similar to environmental artist Andy Goldsworthy. This class is taught entirely outdoors so be sure to bring a backpack with lunch, bug repellent, sunscreen, a jacket, water bottle, and sun hat. Contact us for more information and detailed directions to locations. In the event of bad weather, locations may change or a make-up day will be scheduled for Friday.
