Perhaps you sent a lovely card, or sat quietly in a chair. Perhaps you sent a funeral spray, if so, we saw it there. Perhaps you spoke the kindest words, as any friend could say, Perhaps you were not there at all, just thought of us that day. Whatever you did to console our hearts, We thank you so very much, whatever the part.

Peacefully at Almonte Country Haven with loved ones by her side on Saturday morning, March 15th, 2008. Margaret Isabel Dazé of Arnprior at the age of 97 years. Daughter of the late Charles Alexander Gilmour and the late Laura Ann Cuthbertson. Beloved wife of the late Tony Dazé (1990). Cherished mother of Marlyn Gatien (late Ray), Bob (Mary), Bill (Linda), Peter (Debbie), Susan Miller (Ellard) and Jane Vallentyne. Predeceased by a daughter, Ann Brisson and a son C.J. “Bud” Dazé. Special mother-in-law of Bob Brisson (Linda McAllister) and Bette Dazé. Dear sister of Jean Baker (late Bill) of Almonte Country Haven. Also predeceased by her only brother, Ken Gilmour. Dearly loved and proud Nana of 22 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren. Also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. Friends may join us for visitation at the Pilon Family Funeral home & Chapel, 50 John Street North, Arnprior on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and after 9:30 a.m. Tuesday. A Service of Thanksgiving for the life of Isabel Dazé will be conducted in the Pilon Family Chapel on Tuesday morning, March 18th at 11 o’clock. Rev. Meg IllmanWhite of Grace St. Andrew’s United Church officiating. Interment will follow at the Malloch Road Cemetery, Arnprior. For those wishing, a donation made to the Almonte Country Haven would be most appreciated by the Dazé families.

June 28, 1930 Feb. 1, 2008 Born in Arnprior the son of the late Samuel Garnet Wilson and the late Edith Lillian Glenn, beloved husband of Estelle Gertrude Devine (2003). Survived by sisters Jean (Robert) Fitzpatrick, Delta, B.C., Margaret (Bill) Howard, Mission , B.C., Elizabeth “Buff” (Bill) Laventure, Arnprior, Ont., his brother John Gilmour Wilson of Penticton, B.C., sister-in-law Marguerite Gauthier (late Sylvio), Rockland, Ont. Predeceased by three sisters Grace (late Fallon) Farrell, Sudbury, Ont., Mary (late John) Phillips, Cambridge, Ont., Louise (Joe) MacLaren, Vernon, B.C. and sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements were conducted Feb. 4, 2008 by Lannin Funeral Home, Smiths Falls, followed by cremation, conducted by Rev. Albert Hopkins. Interment will take place in Smiths Falls in the spring. Sam was retired from many years at Bell Telephone Co. in Montreal, Pembroke and Smiths Falls. Sam was actively involved with the Masonic Lodge. Shriners, as well as the Civitan Club. San accomplished his dream to refurbish two antique fire trucks which are now used proudly by the Shriners Club in area parades. A special thanks to his good friends and neighbours Reg and Judy Irvine for their care and kindness during Sam’s illness. He will be missed by his many family and friends.

Donald Jack Banes of Arnprior at the age of 79 years. Beloved husband of the late Beverley June Offord. Dearly loved father of Donald (Janice) and Debbie Hodgins (Clarence). Cherished “Poppa” of Terry Hodgins, Donald, Justin and Tylin Banes. Predeceased by his parents, Cecil and Eileen Banes and his brother, Richard (Doreen of Wilno). SMYTH, Shirley Evalene Passed away peacefully with loving family by her side at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto, on March 15th, 2008, in her 51st year. Beloved mother of Lauren and Joshua, sister of Bruce, Sylvia and Sara and daughter of Marion and the late Gillies Smyth. Shirley was born on the 19th of March, 1957. She was educated at the University of Guelph where she graduated in 1979 with an Honours Bachelor of Science degree specializing in Genetics. Upon her graduation, she began her career at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto and in 1983, started a new career at IBM Canada where she worked for the following 24 years. She will be remembered by those close to her as a loving and caring woman, with boundless strength and an unbreakable spirit. A funeral service will be held at the Pakenham United Church on Saturday, March 22nd at 1 p.m. Interment at Pakenham Union Cemetery. Her family would like to give a very special thanks to her caring staff at Princess Margaret Hospital and at Mount Sinai Hospital for their tireless devotion and incredible support. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Shirley can be made to the Princess Margaret Hospital Leukemia Cancer Centre or to the Canadian Cancer Society. YOUNG, Florida Passed away after a short illness on Sunday March 9th 2008 at the Bonnechere Manor at the age of 91. Pre-deceased by her husband John. Loving mother of George (Ella) and Grace (the late Murray) Yantha. Proud grandmother of Laurie Gauvreau (Jerry deBoer), Robert Yantha, Craig (Gilindy) Young, Rebecca (Howard) Mende and Ruth Young (Greg Mulligan). Dear great grandmother of Jacqueline Gauvreau, Jonathan Mende, O’Sean Young and Jeremy deBoer. She will be missed by her brothers and sisters. Florida was very active in the community especially the Glasgow Women’s Institute and the Glasgow United Church. She was also quite involved with the Waba Cottage Museum and a long time exhibitor of the Renfrew Fair. The family would like to thank the staff at the Quail Creek Retirement Home for their excellent care of Florida and the staff at the Bonnechere Manor for their understanding and compassionate care.
