High Country Hamlets Drive Trail Hampton Visitor Information Centre — Cnr New England Highway & Esk-Hampton Road Soak up the old world charm of the historic cottage which is now home to the visitor centre as you say hi to the friendly locals and check in with what’s happening in the region. There’s even local produce on offer, and your journey’s barely begun. Tip: For coffee, cake and snacks, Hampton Store (50m north) from the Visitor Centre has you covered. Nest Cafe & Art Galleries — 4 Charlotte Street, Crows Nest Stop into this cute cafe for a generous country lunch and top up coffee. Next walk off lunch as you stroll down the street to the Crows Nest Community Arts and Crafts and explore a wealth of local creations before continuing around the corner to the Crows Nest Regional Art Gallery. We’re sure you’ll leave with a piece of Crows Nest’s creative produce with you. Bunnyconnellen Olive Grove & Vineyard — 286 Swain Road, Crows Nest A serene and picturesque cellar door experience! Sample homegrown olives, tapenades, and wine on a seasonal platter. Visit The Store for antiques, clothing and bespoke gifts and homewares from local and international artisans. Open 10 to 4 on Saturday and Sundays. Salts Antiques — 1 Thallon Street, Crows Nest Back at Crows Nest, lose yourself and possibly anyone you’re with, in Salts antique wonderland. Expect many trips down memory lane. Emeraude Bistro — 8616 New England Highway, Hampton Ever been to a micro region eatery? Well tick this off your bucket list. A restaurant that sources all local fresh ingredients to create a delectable menu. Check out their Instagram feed @emeraude_ hampton if you’re into kaleidoscopes of culinary splendour. Breakfast, lunch or dinner here is a must do. Open: Thursday and Friday 9am to late, Saturday 8am to late and Sunday 8am to 3pm. The Woods Ravensbourne — 3143 Esk-Hampton Road, Ravensbourne Set among Ravensbourne’s tall gums, with stunning views over the Brisbane and Lockyer valleys, The Woods is a hidden gem in this high country. A perfect wedding venue in its grounds and there is a fully licensed restaurant. It’s just a short 40min trip from Toowoomba and 90mins from Brisbane so it is a lovely destination for family and friends or for your car and motorcycle clubs. Book into the neighbouring Chalets At Ravensbourne Escape and stay for the weekend or even a week. They also host corporate events, meetings, conferences and retreats.
