Sample tasty treats and delicious dishes from some of our local favourites: Baker’s Duck — 124 Campbell St, Toowoomba City This artisan sourdough baker has recently opened their own Bakery Cafe selling sourdough bread, sausage rolls, croissants and pastries topped with local seasonal fruit, partnering with the best coffee makers in town — Ground Up, so you can be sure to leave satisfying those coffee and pastry cravings. Be sure to get there early before they all sell out!
Bunnyconnellen — 286 Swain Road, Crows Nest Fresh, herbaceous tannin-rich olive oils are just one of the drawcards at Bunnyconnellen with its magnificent country setting, complete with rustic cellar door and B&B cottage. In addition to the stunning olives and oils available, Bunnyconnellen also have a great range of locally sourced vinegars, tapenades and wines. Cellar door tastings can be made by appointment. Bunnyconnellen also hosts special events throughout the year – check the website for details. Metiisto Artisan Chocolate — 19 Croft Crescent, Harristown Metiisto Artisan Chocolate started life in 2012 in a little town called Falun in the heart of Sweden. Metiisto were Sweden’s only craft bean-to-bar chocolate maker and went on to win many international awards. In 2018 they moved to Toowoomba and reopened Metiisto as the regions only chocolate factory. Metiisto take pride in using ethically sourced cocoa from the Solomon islands and the highest quality local ingredients. Emeraude — 8616 New England Highway, Hampton A Micro Region Eatery located in the beautiful High Country area of Hampton, a half hour north of Toowoomba, Emeraude is set right on the New England Highway. Emeraude works directly with local farmers, so their menu is ever changing with the seasons. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, Emeraude is a must stop to truly experience the flavours the region has on offer. Rosalie House — 135 Lavenders Road, Lilyvale Rosalie House, an original Queenslander homestead and the Rosalie House Vineyard are 510 metres above sea level on the eastern edge of the Darling Downs. The cellar door and café, perfectly pairing local produce and their own wine, is a beautifully restored railway cottage that offers magnificent views across the Lilyvale Valley. German Bake and Wurst House — 108 Postmans Ridge Road, Helidon Spa Andrea Wissig and her mum Sonja Axthelm operate German Bake and Wurst House, having moved from Germany in 1999.
