Follow their progression from the discovery of flight through to the technologically advanced military aircraft of today. Our area for kids will spark their imagination and give them a hands on feel for what it might be like to be a Military Aviator. Milne Bay Aquatic & Fitness Centre — 43-49 Victoria St, Toowoomba City Frolicking in water for hours on end is rarely met with opposition from the little people. A trip to the Toowoomba Regional Council’s pools, equipped with lifeguards, kids wading pools and waterslides, fits the bill. Open all year round, the biggest issue will be trying to leave. Crows Nest National Park — Three Mile Rd, Crows Nest For a water activity that merges with nature, Crows Nest National Park provides a 2.7km walking track peppered with pit stops to three waterholes, Two shallow sandy pools followed by a large, deeper one for the more avid swimmer. Did we mention spotting the occasional brush-tailed rock-wallabies? Darling Downs Zoo — 21 Baines Rd, Pilton No childhood is complete without at least one trip to the zoo. With an array of animals from Africa, South America, South-East Asia and Australia, there’s bound to be one that earns the ‘my favourite’ title. We’re fairly certain this won’t be your last visit. DownsSteam Tourist Railway & Museum — 16 Cambooya St, Drayton The young, and young-at-heart alike, are bound to enjoy wandering through old train carriages and restoration workshops, set amongst prize-winning gardens. Fun AND educational. Fairy Dell — 94a Mort St, North Toowoomba The Fairy Dell Garden has been created to teach children and adults about nature and relaxation, and to share the magic. We are, so we’re off to Mini Golf at CGC to show off those skills! Mini Golf at CGC offers 18 fun-filled themed holes the whole family can enjoy together, and perhaps enjoy some friendly competition at the same time. Along the way, you’ll come across some challenging obstacles, and some surprising twists and turns to keep you on your toes! Mini golf is a super fun way to spend a family day out together. The Toowoomba Live Steamers — The Toowoomba Live Steamers miniature railway is open to the general public for rides on the third Sunday of each month from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, weather permitting.
