Who Are Ya? It was quite a coup when Salva Ruiz joined CD Tenerife on loan in the summer, many Valencia fans had been calling for him to join up with their senior squad. The 18 year old left back came through the ranks for his home town club and by 16 was a regular in their Segunda B reserve team. We don’t get that many international players on the rock but Salva has worked his way up through Spain’s Under 16, 17, 19 and 20 sides. Probably his finest hour was as a late sub against France in the semi final of the European Under 19’s in Estonia, which Spain went on to win. He looks a class act, cool on the ball, and reads the game well. Salva made his senior Valencia debut against UE Llagostera in the Copa del Rey. The rising star says he would like to play like Jordi Alba but has found the left back role well guarded by Camara and or Llorente. It’s probably doubtful that Salva will be loaned our way again next season but at least when he makes the senior Spain team we can be proud that Tenerife played a part in his rise to the top.

the spark that ignites the blanquiazul attack. With him we can ral He isanyone in this league, without him we struggle. The strength in El Gene beat depth in the forward line is non existent, Marti flatters to deceive when "Ayoze-Dependence" is something that the team appears to rely on.

he does get a chance, and Borja is about as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike. In the 2nd division there is a maximum wage limit for the squad. This forces clubs to bring through the youngsters, which is a positive thing of course. Our manager Cervera is not shy in promoting the local youth to the squad, if you’re good enough you will get your chance. Something we haven’t done in recent years. The CDT B team play in the 3rd division and are having a great season, currently lying 2nd in the table. On 26th January, they play CD Marino in Las Americas. It should be a good game as Marino have been in the top four for most of the campaign, I hope to see you there! Regarding away games. Viajes Halcon have produced various away packages for the remainder of the season, check out our Facebook page for more details. Plenty of interest for the Barcelona B and Deportivo trips it seems. Enjoy it today. It can´t be worse than the last home game can it?

Chris Todd Our rivals next week have just finished a crazy home match against Zaragoza. Sporting Gijon had 3 players sent off and eventually lost 2-3, conceeding in the last minute! David Thorley Wow! Should be an interesting match! Bert Mowat Are the 3 players automatically suspended for next game? David Dye I would think so Bert. A cup game against Vigo or was it Sporting 9 years or so ago and they had 3 players sent off. We won 3-1 A E T. We have won ‘some’ cup games. Nikki Leadbeater Gaze There is some problem with the players and the coach too should be a game to win next week David Dye Its all about which team of ours turn up next Sunday Nikki. The Las Palmas one or the last home game one?
