of local legislative task force focused on woman’s issues, and the president of the Rockland Riverfront Communities Council. She is also a proud member of Soup Angels, a non-denominational, non-profit soup kitchen dedicated to providing free meals to anyone in the village that may need them. Soup Angels has been serving dinner for up to 90 people every Monday and Wednesday evening for over 10 years. During her time in office, Lorenzini has accomplished a lot for the Village of Nyack. She secured $20,000 in funding for the annual Fourth of July fireworks, spearheaded a resolution that has prevented the U.S. Coast Guard from establishing barge anchorage fields in the Hudson River, and established ongoing meetings between the Village Board and the Orange Town Police Department. Marie has also been a champion of fiscal responsibility, as she and her colleagues achieved a 0%

increase in the Village Tax for two consecutive budget years. Her dedication to the Village of Nyack is also illustrated by her years of service on Nyack’s Planning and Zoning Boards. Her commitment to responsible development that will benefit all members of the Nyack community is based on her long involvement with village committees, the building department and planning professionals hired by the village to assist and advise the village in these important areas. Marie also played an integral part in the Master Plan revision. Marie is running on the Democratic ticket this November and is eager to continue her dedicated service to Nyack. The Democratic primary is being held on June 25th. All who support her should turn out and help keep one of Nyack’s most selfless citizens in office.
