New public notice law goes into effect Tuesday A new law requiring additional language in certain public notices will take effect Tuesday. The law was enacted as Act 954 by the Arkansas General Assembly earlier this year.

Public notices subject to the new requirement are those placed by

municipalities and counties in Arkansas. Act 954 requires the entity placing the notice to disclose how much the notice cost and which entity paid for it. The entity placing the notice is responsible for including the disclosure language required under Act 954. The act applies

only to notices placed by Arkansas cities and counties or divisions of those cities and counties.
